Hats and gloves?

For you folks there now, have you needed hats and gloves in the morning? Is a sweatshirt good enough?

We leave in two Saturdays and I really really don't want to bring winter gear.

Depends on what you are used to. We went in Dec, temps were highs in the mid 70s, lows lower 60s to mid 50s. We wore shorts and tee shirts, sometimes changing to jeans and a light jacket on the cooler nights. We could easily tell who the southerners were, they were bundled up like it was snowing while we thought it was very nice.

Sweatshirt should be fine and you won't need it by mid-morning. Early mornings have been in the mid-50s.

When I go in the winter, I bring those small stretchable knit gloves as my hands get cold easily. I rarely wear a hat, but I've been known to bring a fleece scarf to keep my neck warm ... warm hands and neck and I can do a light weight jacket or hoodie.

I have needed gloves and a hood in Dec, Jan, Feb, and even once in April in the morning and at night. But other times during those same months it has been very warm. Check the weather before you pack. Bring layers and a good rain jacket that doubles as a wind breaker, and is roomy enough for a couple warm layers underneath. Also, many disney stores have basic knit hats and gloves for sale during colder weather. But they don't take up much room in your luggage anyway.

I've gone a couple times at the beginning of March. One time it was highs in the 80s. Another time it was highs in the 50s and 60s, I froze at night. So what it is this week is not a predictor of 2 weeks from now. This time of year can change fast.

weather just got warmer, I'm there next week and planning to leave a bag in the lockers with some warmer things just in case.

We are in Wisconsin so low 70s to me is tshirt and shorts. My DD2 never wears mittens, even in winter. But my DD5 once asked to wear mittens in June!

We will have sweatshirts for morning. Maybe I'll throw in a thin pair of gloves.

Here now, having great weather. Sweatshirts in the am and they're off by 11am. Hot in the sun. Kids and hubby in shorts. Me, capris but maybe shorts tomorrow.

Thin gloves would be good. I arrived on Sunday and this weather is mirroring my Cali Central Valley weather. I do wear thin gloves when out walking at home when it's in the mid-50s.

By mid-morning these past few days, even a light cardigan seemed a little too much. It did rain heavily on Monday evening in Davenport, where I'm staying, so be prepared for all kinds of weather.

Just returned today. We are Minnesotans but we were thankful for having brought our fleece jackets, hats and gloves. Mine are the Nordstrom Echo brand, thin but wool gloves. My kids just had Target cotton/acrylic cheapie Gloves along and didn't complain. We used these last week in AM and at night on some days. We wore hooded sweatshirts to the park on the other days based on forecasts and put them in our bag when it got warm and took them out when the sun went down. Even before sunset it was cooling down as the sun was low in the sky, with shade everywhere. We saw sooooo many miserable people dressed for the tropics.

And we also wore shorts, Ts, and swam at the resort twice. People who say "layers" and bring a variety from cool to warm weather clothes are correct. We did not bring any sandals and never wished we had them. Late March/early April has been far warmer than our Feb trips, even at night.

We used a locker on our two longest park days to avoid carrying around some gear. Have fun!

I'm probably not the person to ask.... I don't wear gloves or a hat until it's at least 29 out. That drop to under 30 gets me. I'm here now and wearing Capri yoga pants and t-shirts comfortably all day. I am not hauling a sweatshirt around all day for a couple cool hours. I was sweating heavy in the sun this afternoon.

Also from Wisconsin. I was there for marathon weekend in January. It got to about low 50s at the lowest. I never had more than a light sweatshirt. I wore shorts the entire trip, didn't even pack pants. It depends on what your tolerance is. 50s to me is very nice where a light sweatshirt works.

We were there in January and the low in the am when we were headed to the park was 39 degrees. We had 2 hoodies and gloves and were comfortable.

good question, we leave march 5th and i was wondering if we should even waste time packing swimsuits?
