I hate using a fanny bag, but they are SO convenient---can you recommend something else to use....(not a fan of backpacks either) sorry to be so picky :cool1:

If you don't need a large bag you should try something like The Sak. They sometimes have them at TJ Maxx but definitely have them at Bloomingdales and other major department stores. The are a woven sort of fabric bag that is on a long string. They are very summery looking and can be worn with the strap across your chest or as a regular bag. They also make larger sizes. They have had similar bags at Target but the string is not as long and the bag is not as big. The Sak bag that I am referring to is about the size of a large paperback. I use mine daily and it holds a small wallet, cell phone, keys and other junk that I collect daily (receipts, change, etc.).

Look at the Mountainsmith Lumbar series. It might be what you're looking for. I have one and took it to Universal and it was awesome! Can't recomend them enough

Thanks for all your help, the Old Navy seems too big 12x9, see my problem is I want it all, small enough yet large enough, yet not too big. I don't know were to look for the mountain lumbar series is there a web sight... Thanks again for all your help!!!

Try QVC.com. Item #f1178. I have one of these and absolutely love it for shopping and traveling!!!

Good Luck!

Any recommendations for those out here who just hate our fanny?
Absolutely...wear the fanny pack turned around so the "Pack" part is in front...Then you have another body part to hate :rotfl:

I have a COACH wristlet that I received from my employer for my 5 year anniversary! I LOVe it. It is ironic, because when I ordered it I thought it was a full size purse, and I was very shocked when it came! LOL But it has been the best thing. http://www.coach.com/shop/product_nobefree.asp?product_no=5858&category_id=240&show_bc=&easyask_id= I love it, I take the little wrist strap and put it thru a belt loop on my pants and then either let it hang or tuck it into my pocket. I have taken it to WDW on many occasions as well as on DCL and US/IOA and when I go gambling in Biloxi I take it.

No problem, gald to help! I m telling you I love that thing! That is why it is so funny! You should have seen the look on my face when my boss presented me with my 5 year anniversary "PURSE" hehe but it has been the best thing@

You know it is funny, but other than on the cruise, WDW, or any other amusement park, I do not wear a fanny pack or waist pouch - but I absolutely could NOT do without it then! I have several different ones - larger and smaller. My favorite one (a Swiss-Army one) holds my compact camcorder, digital camera, cell phone, iPod (when I want to bring it), ID, keys, and cash.

My wife doesn't like them either, and carries a small nylon purse she got from Eddie Bauer several years ago. I tried searching them on the web, but could not find a thing like it - it is basically a small, flat nylon pouch, that has a foldover flap, and a very narrow string type thing that you can wear it like a purse. It holds her cell phone, ID, and "necessities". I do the heavy lugging! :p

I found this...I hope it's the right one! Mountainsmith Lumbar Packs

This may not be helpful, but I gave up on the fanny pack. I like my clothing to fit loosely around my substantial waist.

I now use an "around the neck" water safe. They come in two sizes. One will only hold several cards: Key to the World, drivers licsense, credit card, medical card, etc. The larger one will hold cards plus rental car keys and a few cigarettes (or an asthma inhaler).

These are available at the water parks and some Disney gift shops. I have one which says Castaway Cay. I wear them under my shirt or one-peice swimsuit.

They work great for me. I carry my video camera in a small diaper bag. It is padded, plastic lined (water resistant) and just the right size. I also suspect less likely to be stolen. :earboy2:

I also hate the fanny pack thing. I am heavy enough without this type of accent!

I have 2 bags I carry at WDW. One is from LL Bean and can be a shoulder bag or backpack. Nice to be able to change.

The other is just a canvas type purse that has a shoulder strap and carrying handle.

It depends on how much water I am carrying etc etc.

If it is a very light day...cell phone on belt....room key, id and credit card in lanyard around neck.

Hope this helps...best of luck.

Thank you to all who responded. I found a slim "pup bag" on QVC, doesn't look to bulky, but looks like it can carry quite a bit (I hope!!). Hopefully it will be ok....I think I keep the US P.O. in business with all the shipping charges on stuff I order.... :rotfl:
