Hash House A Go Go

Read the reviews on Urbanspoon for the Orlando location. They are not very good. We eat at the one in Vegas. We share one dish (homemade corned beef hash). It is delicious but huge and we still end up with leftovers. Prices are high but not so bad per person if sharing one item.

I've read the reviews....both on Urbanspoon and TripAdvisor. I was more wondering if any Disers had first-hand experiences there, just out of curiosity. It doesn't seem to be brought up here often.

I'm not too put off by the negative reviews....most are from one-review posters, which generally don't hold a whole lot of substance for me (same goes for the one-location reviewers from TripAdvisor). We don't find the prices high (especially considering the quantities) but we're from Canada where you get a whole lot less for your money where dining is concerned. If we have left-overs, we have big ol' fridge in the villa to put them in and enjoy for the following morning's breakfast :thumbsup2 .

We decided to go ahead and purchase the voucher from Travelzoo which gives us $40 of food and drinks for $20. At that price, we figured why not give it a whirl :) . DH has mentioned it on multiple trips as we drove by on I-Drive, so at worst....we will be trying something new. The menu certainly offers some interesting dishes....deciding on what to have is going to be rather difficult!

Thank you for mentioning the Travelzoo deal. I just bought a certificate. We love the Vegas location and are hoping the Orlando location will be as good. We have only tried the hash and pancakes and loved them both. The certificate will allow us to try new dishes.

Just had a friend go there while visiting orlando and she loved it, portions look huge too.

You're welcome! Glad you could take advantage of the savings, too :thumbsup2 .

We had it last year and really enjoyed it

Great to hear! Thank you both :) .

I work pt next to it. Though Ive never been, from what most people I talk to about it have been positive. Ive only heard 1 negative and that was from my manager who went next door to eat last week (he goes there pretty often) and said the service was getting bad. Havent heard to much about it otherwise other then that 1 time.

Great feedback. Thank you! (and fingers crossed we get a good server ::yes:: )

Looks like a great deal, I'll have to check it out.
Gina, do you have good directions to this place from Vistana?

Hash House is right on International Drive, up near Fun Spot (on your way toward Universal).

From the Vistana, it would probably be easiest to take the I4 to the Kirkman Road exit, then go north on I-Drive from there.

Thanks! I'm not as familiar with that area as Disney. I wasn't sure if there was some hidden short cut or way of avoiding I-4.

Not a short cut, but you could always meander from one end of International Drive to the other. Take in the sights, see the Orlando Eye, and avoid the craziness of the I4. Of course, I-Drive is its own special kind of crazy too :rolleyes2 (but yet....I love it still!).

There is a sneak that I used extensively this past trip to avoid the I-4 when it was overly congested between 535 and Universal. Take World Dr onto to I-Drive north. Turn left on the new Darryl Carter Pkwy, cross over I-4 and turn right on Palm Pkwy (becomes Turkey Lake Rd). Things still get pretty congested around Sand Lake, I would cross over Sand and cut over to Kirkman on either Vineland (just past USF), or on Conroy (towards Mall at Millenia). I absolutely love this new route, at least until the word gets out about it. A 4-lane overpass with almost zero traffic!

ETA - oops, perhaps the word is out now...

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!:thanks:
