Is there anything to see at the Hasbro Headquarters in RI? Looking for a stop in RI that is quick but something my kids would like as we drive thru the state.

Thanks!

There is nothing to see at the Hasbro HQ.

The state capitol building is open to the public and very cool lots of history

The National Park Service has a site that interpets the history of the purtians that settled the area.

RI has some nice beaches.

Not sure of your route but on the border of Massachusetts and Rhode Island is Battleship Cove in Fall River Mass. It's the largest collection of WW II vessels in the world. I went as a kid and have taken my kids twice now. My son has even slept overnight on the USS Massachusetts with the Scouts. Admission is a bit steep but well worth it and kids under 6 are free and I believe there's a AAA discount.

The Roger Williams Zoo is a good take and is right off of I-95. With most things in RI, you will spend more time at them then it takes to drive through the state :)

Unless your kids would want to take a picture with a huge Mr. Potato Head that sits outside the corporate office (and many do), that's about it :)

Are they any other Mr Potatoe heads around town.. or just at the Headquaters?

How often is the Waterfire at Providence?

Here is the link to the Waterfire schedule http://waterfire.org/schedule/2013-waterfire-event-schedule/. As for Mr. Potato Head, back in 2000 (I believe), there were different ones scattered throughout the state but as of today, other than the corporate headquarters, the only other place I think you'll find him will be over at the Johnson & Wales Culinary Museum in Providence (they have two inside the museum currently) and there is one at the playground at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. Hope that helps!

There is tons to do in my little state.

Roger Williams Park has a fantastic zoo as well as state of the art playground, planetarium and paddle boats.

There is a great Providence Childrens Museum.

RISD is our world famous art school and they have a fantastic art museum

Waterfire is on certain summer weekends along Waterplace Park. It is a great walk through the city even during the day with a great mall on one end.

We are called the Ocean State for a reason. Spending the day in Newport or one of our other fanatastic beaches is awesome. You can also tour the mansions of Newport and walk the Cliff Walk.

Let me know if you have any questions!

You have to stop by one of the beaches and have some clam cakes. They are awesome and I miss them so much.

I saw your earlier thread about NH attractions. What's your driving route or final destination?

Hartford CT has a fantastic science museum and in MA, just north of Hartford in Springfield, they have a fun complex of museums including a Dr Seuss sculpture garden. In Orange CT, south of Hartford is the Pez Factory. It's very underwhelming but my kids have a lot of fun in there and it's a cute little place. It is more of a side attraction, as it takes only about 30 minutes to see it all.

I agree with the other posters about their suggestions for RI attractions. Scarborough Beach is our favorite beach with showers, great food and awesome waves. Touring the Newport Mansions is also a must-do for tourists. They're gorgeous!

Have fun!
