We stayed at WL in 1997 and are thinking of trying it again.

Do you have any comments about the resort's condition?

Has it had the carpeting, furniture, etc. replaced?

I just returned from a 5 night stay and the property looked GREAT! I read all the bad reviews and I was expecting something to go wrong but we had no problems.

Enjoy your stay!

DD,

We stayed at WL the first year it opened, and every other year since. I feel it is in dire need of refurbishing, esp. the public restrooms.

That said, I still have a ressie for this Sept in a honeymoon suite to celebrate our anniversary.

It has not had a remodel yet but I suspect it is really close. They seem to have remodeled the other deluxe resorts after 10 years with the modereades waiting 11-12.years. WL is due. Lets see if it happens.

Hmmmm, well maybe you all may feel that the decor is old, however I felt the place was in great shape.

I feel that I have a more critical eye then most; I look out for the chipped paint, worn carpeting, cracked tiles, and ripped wallpaper. I worked as a manager in the hotel industry before leaving to become a travel planner. :) Considering that everything was original, I thought they are doing a great job on the upkeep. We were even in a smoking room and it did not smell like the previous occupants. The boat's to MK and CR were nice, bus transportation over the BUSY marathon weekend was GREAT. The view from our room was awesome, we saw Wishes every night from our balcony.

I can understand that compared to the newer properties it does have some aspects that date the hotel: The smaller TV's, the bedspreads, the smaller safe's in the room, the public rest rooms don't have the automatic sinks and the food court is small. I still feel that the WL is a good value compared to the other deluxe resorts where you can be paying 100$ or more a night.

Would I stay there again? No because the themeing was not my cup of tea. I live in the Northwest, thus I did not want to eat northwest cuisine so I did not use the restaurants. I can get out great NW wines here, so why would I have them in the lounge? I feel that I should of thought about that all before I made the reservations for our stay there. Also, keep in mind that the rooms are still the same size as the moderates. I would not stay there if there were more then just the two of us, however we had a queen/queen room.

I hope this detail helps!
