Has Waitlist Process Improved

Another waitlist came through yesterday for May. Downgraded from a 1BR at BRV to a DS. Cancellation email at 12:39pm and can’t wait to welcome you home email at 1:38pm.
Glad I was in a meeting and didn’t see the first one until after the second one came in.

Tried to coordinate a drop with a friend for two nights at VGC, only to have one night taken immediately by a waitlist. Learned my lesson, put in the other night on for WL and it filled (eventually). I stalked but I probably didn't need to; that immediate loss of the other night gives a good indication that WL is now filled before inventory is kicked out to the availability calendar.

I was half heartedly stalking the 1 night we needed at the start of our vacation. We had a waitlist in and got an email yesterday for the night I needed. It was for a value at AKL, so I think the process went well. Good luck!

Hello - I have used the waitlist many times. . . However, it has been years since I have done so. The last few times I did, the waitlist was unsuccessful, but I was able to find exactly what I had waitlisted by stalking the online booking tool. At the time it lead me to believe that DVC IT only ran the waitlist requests vs current availability episodically/infrequently during the day instead of continuously or at least very frequently. This happened several times. It has been years since I have needed to rely on a waitlist. Does anyone know if this process has improved, or should I still be stalking in addition?
I have had a lot of luck waitlisting, mostly for shorter stays

The wait-lists used to come through more often but recently I've had a few that didn't match, but overall I've been lucky

We've been waiting 3 months for a BWV BV 1 bed for 3 nights in March, no luck.☹️

I don't know how often the waitlist system cycles but I can't imagine its continually updating as I've had better luck with stalking than I have with the waitlist system coming through for me. Does anyone know how often it checks for new availability?

No one knows for sure, but I have discovered that I think it seems to pick up individual days a lot more often than multiple days.

I just had a waitlist for one day at BCV end of March and had been refreshing like every 10 minutes (had one of the two nights I wanted booked).

All of a sudden the day before and after I wanted showed up, but not the one I had put in the waitlist. I did chat and sure enough, it had just matched...so, it was obvious someone had canceled all three nights and it snagged my night.

But, I too have had luck stalking so I think it just depends!

My experience, Friday I changed my 7 night res (9/24 -10/1) to OKW and put in wait list for BRV. By 11:30pm I received a cancelation email and at 4:30 am I received a confirmation email for BRV. It would appear to be completely automated as I don't think anyone is working at those hours.

By the way my wife is a happy camper!

Not necessarily, a lot of people work from home and odd work hours when they can put in time. I know a few CM's that I have talked to on the phone were working from home on a Sunday.

Since the cancellation came around 11:30 pm, that is when the CM processed it and they very well could have some working flex hours at that time.

There is always a delay in the confirmation email. I changed a trip last night around 10:00 pm and the email didn’t come until 7 am this morning.
