Hi Everyone-
I am travelling on the 4 day Wonder, August 28th sail. I would like to bring my au pair (nanny) who is from Ireland. She has a legal passport and a non-immigrant visa. She is afraid if she goes on the ship, b/c "she is leaving the country" they might not let her back, and would deport her back to Ireland.

My TA said she only needed a non-expired passport, but she didn't see very sure of her answer. Does anyone have any experience with non-US citizens? Does anyone know the answer or where I can get the absolute answer to this question?

[Believe it or not, my au pair saved one of my babies lives today. He is 11 months old and was choking on a quarter (we have no idea where he found it!). After thanking God that he sent us this young woman who knew infant CPR, my husband and I feel bringing her on a Disney cruise is the least we can do!]

Give your children a hug and count your Blessings every day! You never know what might happen........

Hi, I do not know anything about your question. Just wanted to thank you, and yes, I am now finishing work, and about to give my kids the biggest hug and kiss.. :love2:

Thank God she was there.. :goodvibes

I would call DCL and/or US Customs and Immigration for a definite answer on this one...don't want to be wrong! Have fun!

I don't know the answer -- but -- :confused3 I would call - DCL directly and ask - also - try contacting the state department or US Customs... Ask if there is anything in writing concerning regulations about entering & leaving the country with the Visa.

Apparently, My au pair cannot go on the cruise with us. She would have needed a "multi-entry" visa, which she is not allowed to apply for until she is in the US for 6 months (she only just arrived a couple of weeks ago). I spoke to DCL, US Customs and the Irish Consulate, and believe it or not....they all said the same things. Not things I wanted to hear.....but at least they were all consistent.

I am so, so, so bummed. I can't even tell you. She is a very sweet girl and I really wanted her to join our family on this trip.

So, just in case this issue comes up for anyone in the future....now you have the information to share. :sad2:

so by the August sailing she'll be just shy of 6 months in the US? Well that just blows. I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll be able to find something else you can include her in that doesn't involve leaving the US until she can get a multi-entry Visa.

Well I say that can only mean one thing - you'll have to plan another cruise so that she can too! ;)

How about checking with an immigration attorney instead of these boards. Seems you need an accurate legal opinion.

I think the attorney is a great idea..Could they possibly have some sort of special paper notarized?????? It has been tooo many years. :rolleyes1 since my legal secretary days...But, they have done some things similar..It is definitely worth investigating...Good Luck :flower:
