Has this ever happened at the Values?

Has anyone ever Paid for a Preferred but been bumped to a Standard at the Values?

I am planning a solo trip for 03/2004 and am a little nervous about staying at a Value (previous trips at Mod or Deluxe) and being at the mercy of the room assigners during a busy time. I was reading the room descriptions and it stated the Fantasia buildings (Preferred location) only had doubles and I was wondering if during a busy time (ie Spring Break) if they would put a solo in double or insist they take a King Standard room. Being a solo this trip it is important to me to be close to the main facility, food court, bus stops etc.

I had trouble with CRO (pricing correction not in the computer at check-in, not room type) at AKL during our 2003 trip and wonder if I hadn't been at a deluxe would the resolution been so easily worked out.

I havent heard of anyone being bumped down. Usually if something happens, they upgrade you. My friend just got back. She had a reservation at POFQ but it had shutdown for renovations (early?), so they moved her over to the boardwalk inn.

They will only bump you up. You may get the resort upgrade if they do not have a room available for you.

WE got moved from Coronado to Boardwalk. Nice upgrade

You won't get bumped "down" in room category, only up. BUT you may not get some specific requests (i.e. courtyard view, a particular building or floor, connecting rooms, etc.).
