Hoping to go back to WDW in June 2018. We have gone several times in September and once during Xmas all during free dining. Now my son is in college and can only go in June. wondering if there has ever been free dining in June.

Loads of people find the room only discount a better value...I don't do the DDP, just doesn't work for how I eat at all. When it was given to me, I hated it. Room discounts were much more my speed, so even if that discount isn't available, others will be for sure

Free Dining is typically a fall promotion. Anything can happen, but odds are against it in June. Room-only discounts will definitely be available, though.

Look into renting points for DVC resort 11 month out. We rented OKW and only paid $150.00 per night which gives us more money to spend on Food. We usually have Free dining and a resort package but this year the MODS only got QS FD so I didn't think this was a great deal, plus there were limited room packages to book. I know how wonderful FD with Reg.DDP it is. This trip we didn't get it and I am still booking 1TS meal per day and we will eat 1QS per day which is the same as you get with Reg. DDP for less than it would cost for a package and FD. Plus, if you have a Sam's club near you, you can purchase Disney Gift Cards at a Discount and use for food and park tickets. I will charge all our food on our Magic bands and then pay with Disney GC at end of the Week. Another thing, if you have a Disney Visa you can get an extra 10% off on certain Disney Restaurants, a few at Epcot for lunch only and several at the Resorts, anytime. We will be eating at Rose and Crown for lunch and use that 10% off (it's also at Coral Reef--Lunch only). You can find the list of WDW restaurants that give the discount on the Disney Visa Rewards site online.

According to the history of room discounts, June's "free dining" consisted of just 1 "free" QS meal a night, they called it their "Summer Meal" package. Disney has also offered 15%-25% off room rates, which is more than likely a much better deal, unless a room is at max occupancy.

People who booked the fd bb last year had the option of some June dates this year.
Check in dates from June 1st - June 6th and also June 30th.

Thank you for your input everyone. Now debating (might be able to manage it) if wait for possible room discount for June 2018 or possible free dining (my boys can eat!) in September 2018? hmmm
