Has There been any news about the world of disney in NYC?

and when is it suppose to open, this year or next? We didn't a chance to go to disney this year and we usually pick up our x-mas gift at disney. Since we're a bus ride to new york, i thought we can go after it open(if it's this year). So any info will be helpful. thanks.

I just walked past the store two nights ago..was wondering why it was closed and didn't know of these plans. After looking at the website it looks really neat. It's a real shame that it'll be the last Disney owned "Disney Store"

The Disney Store chain is apparently in the process of being sold to The Children's Place. As to whether any will close, I assume that no one for sure yet.

With Childrens Place, leases are being renewed, and up to 50 stores will be renovated in the first year. They will pump $$ into the stores, so perhaps good things will happen.

Cant wait for this store to open !! Actually taking a half day off from work, so I can hop on the train and head up there !!

I got an email stating grand opening to be 10/05. Sounds cool, and I hope to get there someday.
