We arrive at Poly this weekend. Last year I received an email that allowed me to check-in online prior to arrival and avoid check-in lines. I don't think it actually saved me much time but it was kind of cool.

Anyway - no such eamil this year. Has this program been eliminated?

I have never heard of this either. We were there several times last year and were never offered online check in. We were not at the Poly last year though. Maybe it was something Disney was trying with a few guests and it didn't work out. I would love to avoid the check in process, especially on those late night arrivals!!

I never knew you could do this at all! How did it work?

My memory on these things is horrible so I'll probably get it wrong: As I recall, an email was sent saying I could pre check-in or pre-register by confirming info in the email, which I did. Upon arrival at Poly, there was one CM standing way over to the left for those who had pre-registered, and
there was no line there. She had our package ready to go - we spent a total of maybe 5 minutes in the lobby before we were off to our room.

Wow that sounds great!

I remember this. I think this was a test program at Poly only and was not extended past it's test period. We could have used it but there were down sides. You were pre-registered so the room you were assigned was the one you got. There was no negotiating for another room if you did not get a request. Some people were worried that if they did not like their location they would be stuck. Our trip was Dec. 2006 so that was about the time they were trying it.

Maybe they asked the guests who tried this out what they thought and they did not like the fact you could not pick the type of room you wanted and etc. So it could be a reason why they decided not to continue with it.

I wouldn't like this option, because I wouldn't be sure or not if my room request had been granted...
