I just watched the DIS Unplugged review for Liberty Tree tavern from 3/19/13. I have reservations there in March and do not want to waste a dining credit on bad food. Has anyone eaten there recently? Has it gotten better? It is a lunch reservation.

We had lunch there in December and did not care for it at all. We won't return.
I liked our meal at Pecos Bills 100 times better.

We were there in December for lunch. It was ok, not as good as it used to be but it was fine. We'd rather have an easy sit down meal during the day than deal with the crowds at the QS places.

Nope, didn't like it the last two years. Food was just ok and we won't go back. I wanted to love it as some people do, but it just didn't do it for us.

We ate there last March. The entrees themselves were basically comfort food, not mind-blowingly good but not bad either.

The ooey gooey toffee cake, however, is delicious and lives up to the great reviews!

We ate dinner there in January and really liked it. It was DH's favorite meal.
I think the * at LTT is dinner is totally different than lunch.
They really don't compare. The lunch menu is quite varied vs. the set dinner menu.
We have enjoyed our dinner there in the past. It's just not food I want on a hot day at the theme park.

We ate lunch there a few weeks ago and loved it. We all got the turkey dinner and shared the ooey gooey toffee cake. It's nothing fancy, we got the basic turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey and veggie but it was really good comfort food. We will go back on our next trip.

1) Agreed.
2) Especially regarding the OGTC.
3) This is why we prefer lunch over dinner.
. . . Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake
. . . ability to order ala carte
. . . dinner is tasty, but just Comfort Food and nothing "special"

Our Recommendations for Dinner:
. . . appys:... Declaration Salad

. . . dessert:. Johnny Appleseed's Cake

Our Recommendations for Lunch:
. . . appys:... Lobster & Crab Dip
. . . entree:.. Season's Fresh Catch, New England Pot Roast
. . . dessert:. Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake
.
NOTE1: The dinner at LTT is pleasant and a nice way to spend some time in small dining areas. The food is usually average and, for WDW, priced reasonably. The pork loin is tender and delicious. The carved beef usually rolls off your fork. Turkey-is-turkey, so not much to add. AppleCake is nice and tasty -- it's too bad the lunch ooey gooey coffee cake isn't on the dinner menu! REALLY gooey. Fortunately, there are no more characters at dinner. There are enough character meals in MK, and it does not need LTT with characters.
.
NOTE2: This is only Comfort Food, and nothing special-unique-upscale. Like most character meals, one expects just average food. Although no longer a character meal, the food recipes were not changed from when it was a character meal.

.
NOTE3: The lunch at LTT is pleasant and a nice way to spend time in air conditioning. Try Crab and Spinach Dip for two, the New England Pot Roast, then the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. There are no stellar eats within MK for price vs food quality, but this is probably the best of the lunch in-park restaurants. We enjoy the lunch more than the all-you-can-eat Dinner. The dinner food seems a little bland to us compared to the lunch. Besides, for smaller appetites, it's a good place to share.

I love the Turkey and Dressing. But they raised the prices to 19.00 and I can't justify paying that much for turkey when I can run over to Cracker Barrel on Thursday while I am there and eat the same meal for 35% off because I work at one in Georgia and its less than $8. But then again I am a little frugal on my next trip this month.

Lots of great information. Thanks!

We ate there in May of last year for lunch and really loved it. The food was good and the service was great. We will definitely be returning.

We ate there for lunch in December and the food was fine. I really wanted to eat dessert but was to full from lunch. I think I should have shared something. The problem we found was that they can run behind with the timings on their bookings.

Oh yes, it's one of the best desserts I've had on Disney property!

Sorry, but it's just not the kind of food we want to eat on vacation.
We love Paula Deen' s ooey gooey butter cakes but not enough to endure a whole meal at the Tavern. We can get Stouffer' s at home.

I ate there once years ago. Hated it. expensive, surly waiter, and cold food. I did not complain, but I will never go back.

There are too many other delightful places to eat a mere stones throw away.

We had lunch there in Dec and didn't think it was as good. I would go back but my son still likes it so guess im eating there again come july.

I enjoy lunch at LTT. I always get the burger and fries. Have to leave room for Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, after all!
