Has it ever been heard of letting non-conceirge people go on the Sunrise Safari AKL?

I would love to pay and go. Do they ever let "out-siders" go if there are openings or cancellations?

I would also like to know the answer to this question. It would be great if they do! My family would love to do this but we're not staying conceirge either.:)

Me too. I've ALMOST got myself convinces to stay AK conc. for a night or two just so I can do this tour... but DH thinks I'm crazy.

He might be right ;)

To my knowledge, they do not offer this program outside the 'concierge' guests. I know it has been a wonderfully successful program...you can tell just by the fact the price for the safari has doubled since they began it. We went the first month the resort was open and it cost us $20 a piece....now it is up to around $40.

Hey WorknFires, we are doing just what you are proposing....staying at AKL concierge for 1 night (before heading over to BWV) on our next trip. My kids have not been on the Sunrise Safari and will really enjoy it. I think it is a bit crazy too but my wife has convinced me that it will be worth it....just for the kids.

LOL I completely understand. We just purchased an additional DVC resale and thought about spending some of our "new" points on AKL conc. but decided to treat the family to another cruise on the wonder. Next year we'll probably spend our points on us for a change LOL and I think that will be a great place to use them.

Let me know how you convince your wife, maybe it'll work on my hubby ;)

They generally have a "waitlist" of concierge guests, so there is no reason to offer it to non-concierge guests.

If you are that interested in it, spend the extra for one night in a concierge room.

My DH was at the AKL in Feb. in a regular savannah view room and wanted to do the safari. He asked at check-in and was able to pay for a one-day upgrade to concierge so that he could do the sunrise safari. He also had to pay for the safari of course. . He was given a special key good for just that day so that he could use the concierge lounge that entire day. So it might be worth it at check-in to ask if there is room on the SS during your visit.
