Has free dining EVER been offered in January? In any way, shape or form? Has dining ever been discounted in any way other than "free" (% off maybe) - at any time of year?

Just curious & trying to guestimate my chances of this great offer for my "hopefully" January trip!

Nope. Actually the free DDP has only been offered the past two years during hurricane season (mid-August to September end). It would be a great offer, but I'm pretty sure we won't see it during that timeframe. All Disney needs is a few snow storms up north to help encourage folks to fly south. We'll be there the first week of February. As for January, between the leftover crowds of the new years and MLK birthday week, they still seem to not have a problem getting folks to visit. I believe there is a marathon in January too that helps fills the resorts.

I wouldn't count on free dining in Jan. They probably will offer some sort of package discount though. This past January, the package deal offered a little off resort rack rates, plus you got "free" hopper and water park options on your tickets. Not free dining by any means, but if you plan on going then regardless, its something!

Seems back to school, hurricane season, love bug invasion, is about the only time it is being offered.

Lets hope they do not offer free dining in January! This time of year is already getting crowded and I would rather pay for my meals than deal with more crowds. We used to go during Christmas and April vaca but the past couple times it has been in January and I have been suprised that it was more crowded than I expected. So I pray that they do not offer any free dining!! Sorry!!
