the last two trips I've been to disney (december 2014, and march 2015) i qualified for the DAS card both times ((i know its been moved to magic bands Now)), as well as the previous trips leading back to before the DAS card was created. i have the need for a scooter, but i also have rare genetic condition MPS2 that comes with other limitations.

we are returning in October and i was just wondering if anything had change timewise that would not let me eligible for DAS this trip?

The only change has been to move to Magicbands, which is detailed in a thread stuck near the top of this board. You only need to read the first post, since that is where the updated info is.

Be prepared to discuss your needs/concerns regarding waiting in the regular line. Your actual condition is not important, and can cause confusion for the CM, so concentrate on the needs/concerns.
The needs you discuss should be things connected to your disability that would not be solved by bringing the mobility device with you in line.
This is important since DAS is not needed to bring a mobility device in line with you. If you still have one of the paper DAS cards, it is usually helpful to bring it with. Even with that, be prepared to answer questions about your needs related to the line wait.

i get that honestly I'm just saying that if nothing has changed for me personally, should there be any reason i wouldn't be granted the DAS service? i get that i will have to discuss with a cast member as I've done it before several times.

No one can say for sure, since only Guest Relations CMs can issue DAS, but the program has not changed except for putting DAS on Magibands.
If nothing has changed with your situation, you should still meet the guidelines since they didn't change.
When I have heard of people getting tripped up is if they are not prepared to explain their needs if asked. That's about as much as those of us "outside" of Disney can say.

I am at WDW now, the first time since it changed from GAC to DAS and I was a little concerned about the change. In the end it was fine I just explained that I used to get a GAC because I had x, y and z problems with the regular lines, answered another question and got it. The guy was really nice and just wanted to establish that I didn't want it for my mobility issues (for which I use a cane and/or wheelchair) but for a reason covered by the DAS.

I would only discuss and mention any needs that would not be covered by your mobility scooter.it seems to keep things alot simpler for certain GS CMs as sometimes they hear mobility device and it throws the whole conversation in that direction instead.

When I get a DAS (Disneyland), I have discovered it works better when I do not refer to my wheelchair at all. Yes, I am sitting in my custom manual wheelchair, but I do not even bring it up. I only discuss the wheelchair if the CM asks about it. I just talk about the concerns that are not met by the wheelchair. I, too, have a rare genetic condition, so giving them the name of my condition does not help... I just say, "due to my medical condition, I have problems with X, Y, Z." I find it just confuses them if I try to explain why the wheelchair is not enough.

If you can go into guest services without the ECV, that might be best that way the CM doesn't possibly "preform" an opinion. Because that never happens!! ;)

Seriously, I have never had any issues but have seen people respond that they have gotten a CM who could not see past their ECV.

Seconding this advice if it's possible. Especially if it's busy and the CM's are rushed.
