Has El Pirata Y el Perico been open lately?

I read somewhere that it was being renevated in a post about pecos bill. I hope not, i was hoping to have veggie tacos one night. It's usually open in the summer when we go. We will be there the last two weeks of july this year.

I don't see anything on the Allears.net rehabs and closures list about it.

But, it is an elusive restaurant. I never seem to catch it open....kinda like the noodle station. I guess they consider it open 'seasonally'.

You could get a taco salad at Pecos Bills and tell them to hold the beef.
They have the fixin's bar there that you can load up with some extra veggies too. That's about the closest I see as an option though.

It was open in May. I ate there twice, on separate days!

Edited to say that, to be honest, I can't remember ever walking by the place when it wasn't open. I've been paying attention since our trip in 2007, and I've yet to go at a time when it was closed.

^ And that's probably why. I usually walk by earlier in the day. It seems like the daily times guides had the restaurant times on there, as well.

I've also never walked by when it's closed either, it's always been open till like around 4pm (just for lunch). We usually travel in the summer and over Thanksgiving, so It's always been open from what I remember.

I've never seen it open but we travel at non-peak times so that's why! We're hoping to fit a 3-day trip in at the end of this month so I might finally get to try it.
