Has DVC set a final date for the OKW extension?

Just curious about this. I'm throwing the idea around that I may buy an additional OKW contract on the resale market. I realize that right now, doing this and adding the extension wouldn't be a good deal because of the total point cost in addition to closing costs. However, I'm wondering if DVC might offer the extension again in 10 or so years??? I'm sure it would be more than $25 per point, but considering inflation, I'm wondering if it could possibly happen and be a good deal in comparision to other price points of whatever the newer resorts may be at the time

I know this most likely doesn't make a lot of sense and is a gamble, but with DVC's most recent decision to offer an extension, it leads me to believe that they may do it again when they build even more new resorts with longer contracts.

Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Would this just be too much of a risk to take? We're trying to decide if we want to gamble or just buy direct through Disney for a "sure" thing. :confused3

Think of all the years that you would have to worry about it until the next offer is made! Buy direct from Disney and play it safe. I think that the present $96 per point price for OKW2057 will look like a bargain after February of this year. I expect prices to go up about $10 a point. :thumbsup2

Thanks tvwalsh. I'm just throwing the idea out there. We just did added on 151 OKW points direct through Disney, but were thinking about getting some more. Not sure if we want to spend that much all at once again though. ;)

I wouldn't purchase planning on another extension, especially at OKW. It could get very complicated to have two different extensions and three different end dates out there. It would be a safer bet (but necessarily a safe bet :rotfl: ) that one of the other resorts may receive an extension down the road. I think OKW is a test market for extensions and DVC will wait and see how it plays out for the next couple of years before they decide to extend any others. JMO
