Has "baby swap" changed recently?

The last time I was there, in 2000 baby swap was different then I have read about recently. I remember on Splash Mountain they had me wait at the EXIT of the ride with the baby and when DH got off, I got on. On Space mountain when DH got in line the woman at the fass pass booth handed me a ticket and said when he came off I could go through that line right away. And it was the same for RnR. ToT I believe I waited in the gift shop at the exit also.

So if I understand correctly the way it is done now is we ALL wait in line. Okay so that means NO stroller in line...I have a 25 pound 9 month old, ermmm not sure how well this is going to work. Are there any rides were you don't wait in the line to baby swap?

Thanks in advance for your help!

At Space Mtn, I waited outside the exit/gift shop.
At BTMRR, we all went in the line, and then they swapped us at the boarding area.
At ToT, I waited at the exit, near the elevators.
At Star Tours, we all went in the line, waited outside the the cars.
At TT, I waited at the exit.

I think it's different at each attraction. Just follow the CMs directions, and you should be all fine.

Earlier this year, we did the baby swap at BTMRR. The CM had me wait outside the entrance while DH went on. When he came out, I went through the fastpass line. Perhaps it also depends on the CM.

Each attraction has it's own baby swap plan. Sometimes you get a "fast pass" type ticket at the entrance to the line so that you do not have to wait in line, other times they have the whole family wait in line. I was nursing last time so the being the waiting parent gave me great opportunity to sit and nurse while the others rode first. For the rides that had the family wait together I would explain that I needed to nurse and they would send me a back way to the waiting area so that I didn't have to stand in the line with a screaming (hungry) baby. The CM's are very nice and understanding. I would also strongly suggest a front carrier or sling while waiting in lines.
