Has anyone's child had to do a Upper GI Barium Swallow Test?

Wow. Do you know how hard it is to see a pediatric gastroenterologist?? My ped said it would be hard to get in - it's impossible! There are only 3 in my area - all 3 abruptly said they were not accepting new patients, end of discussion. So I called my GI doc, he won't take patients under 18. We have 2 great children's hospitals an hour away -CHOP & St Christopher's in Philly - called them both - one can put me on a waiting list for spring, the other can schedule me at a satellite office in another state for December. Holy moly! I left a msg for DSs ped that I was hitting a brick wall, anything she could do to help? Waiting to hear back. If not I guess we're going to NJ in December!

DD19 had this done when she was 11--it was GERD. She did great with the test though but you need to make sure he goes to the bathroom good afterwards.
