Has anyone's child danced at Disneyland?

Just wondering if your child has danced at DL through a dance travel company, and if you thought it was worth the extra cost?

My daughters have the opportunity to do this next April with their dance school. The school had done this a couple of times now, and those that have gone have loved it! But, when I saw the prices, I was a little shocked :scared1:!

We were planning on going with just our family this December and I can book this holiday a lot cheaper. But then the girls wouldn't be dancing at DL!

Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

My daughter hasn't danced at Dinsneyland, but some other students from her dance school have not long returned from a dance tour of the USA, which did include dancing at Disneyland and Universal Studios among other things. I have no idea what the price was for them to go, but I was wondering what rough price you were quoted?? (if you dont mind sharing!) I might need to start saving if my daughter wants to go in the coming years!! Eek!

My daughter hasn't and I wouldn't let her, just because I have friends who's daughters have danced at both Disneyland and WDW. They said it was fantastic, but very hectic and unless you can add time on at the end or beginning of trip, so you can go off by yourself, you are rushed.
Imho, I would prefer to go without the hassle of dancing and plan what we want to do ourselves and and for how long.
One friend did WDW last year, her daughter danced at Downtown Disney, Universal & Kennedy Space Centre, she had her son with her, so she said she sent him off with some other parents, so he could have fun at the parks, They went for 8days, and she said it was way too short and they never got to see everything, cause they had to be at places to dance.
I am sure your daughter would love it, but I would weigh up the cost of doing it with you own trip plans.:goodvibes

Thanks so much for your replies!

Yes, I realise it is going to be very hectic and not relaxing at all!

Meagus - from memory I think it was roughly 16K for a family of 2A and 3C.Includes airfare, 10 nights accom, 5 day Disney pass, US and Hollywood Blvd tours. The dancing and workshops and I think there was a couple of character meals in there? We can obviously go for a lot cheaper by booking ourselves which has me conflicted?!:lmao:

Yes LivingFor Disney - the WDW trip is definitely too short and not as much dancing. But thankyou for your input :)

My daughters (I have 3) have danced at both Disneyland (2009) AND Disney world (2012). I think for any child who loves dancing it is an amazing experience, the audience is fabulous and the kids really love the experience of being as close as many of them will get to being professional dancers.
In terms of time spent actually at Disney it is not enough, but they love spending time with their dancing friends. I planned a holiday to Disney, then looked at the dancing days as bonus days and didn't count them in my holiday planning.
If your daughter loves dancing as much as mine do I would highly recommend it! I would even take mine again if it was ever offered.:)

Thanks ozvisiter!

I've been talking to some mums that have been before, and while they said it was hectic - it was also very special! Some even were teary when their daughters danced! And lots are going for a second or even third time!

Yes. If we do go we will plan to have more of a relaxed holiday afterwards. Maybe some extra Disney days followed by Hawaii on the way home.

Still trying to work out if we can swing going at Christmas time and April :rotfl:. I'm such a dreamer!

But I need to hurry up and decide and dh is not much help! He doesn't care either way!

My hubby has friends with a dance school that do this, and we tagged along with them one year. It did seem to be hectic (though we were free agents), it wouldn't be my first choice way to do it (firstly because I'm a control freak and there's no guarantee it will be well managed, and secondly because I wouldn't want to give up my Dis time locked into performances & workshops - because it's not just the time spent on them, but the getting ready early, assembling, waiting etc).

If you were able to do your own thing after (and with some schools that won't be an option) it could be a great opportunity, but I think you'd have to love Dance more than Disney to really feel like it was money well spent.

Totally agree with what Franrose said.
My daughter loves to dance, but I think loves Disney more lol

Thankyou all so much for your replies!
