use a book where the binding is at the top and it opens like a flip chart? I've been thinking of doing this and just wondered what everyones thoughts were...

No I haven't but I did use a spiral bound book and now hate it!

I've used spiral bound before and had no problems with it...why didnt you like it?
I've got a top loader now and am not sure if I like it or now...

Lots of reasons why I don't like it:
1 Cover got dirty fast
2. Couldn't put a lot of bulky stuff or memorbila because it wouldn't lay flat,
3. Can't add to it
4. Hated my style then! LOL granted that isn't the books problem!
5. I don't like the way it looks on the shelf
6. Pages can easily ripe with my kids looking at it.
7. Just doesn't have the heiloom feel to it!

On the possitive side. I did love the feel and look of the paper! It was cream color and had some texture to it!
I love my top loading albums. I like the 12x12 size I like that I can move my pages around.

I see what you mean...
my first book was a spiral bound...it is bulky...and there are some things I would have liked to change...
I just don't know what kind of book I am going to use for our disney trip...I like being able to design my own cover rather than having on that is already designed for me...but I think for this trip I might have to just deal..
I DEFINATELY want something that we can look back on and say "wow! we did that!"
You're right the top loaders look better on the selves too...
I'm so undecided!!!! (or I guess I made up my mind to use a top loader and just don't want to admit it)
