Has anyone walked from All Stars to Blizzard Beach

All star sports concierge is saying some guests walk the 1 mile to and from All Star Sports to Blizzard Beach to avoid waiting for bus. Has anyone tried this or know whether there's sidewalks all the way and if it's practical. Think I've heard of people walking to the McD's that's on way.

I know it is probably not spot on, but Mapquest puts the distance at over a mile and a half. 1.7 miles actually. No way would I walk it. I'd probably take a cab or Uber if I wasn't in the mood to wait on a bus.

And walking that in FL heat would not be fun. Most people who aren't use tot he humidity would wilt before they got there. The McD is just outside the All star resorts and not very far so I could see that. There isn't as much traffic I don't think along that walkway compared to trying to get to Bliazzard beach. If you walk it you would definitely want a swim.

It's not at all advisable to walk. There are no sidewalks and you can't walk on the road. Plus, there are snakes and other critters in the grass. I've personally seen a gator in the water along side the roadways on property.....more than once.

Thank you guys! Wow on the gators. I guess we will wait for the bus. I hear Sports may have a direct bus to BB instead of connecting at AK (2 conflicting CMs). You have to get off at DS marketplace and take another bus for Typhoon. CM was telling me a typical day if i wanted to go to Mk, typhoon, EP would be 7 buses and about 3 hrs in transportation so I was trying to figure out if I could at least save time for BB.

Even considering upgrading our 8 day PH+ to platinum AP (before using a fun visit) to sort of negate the mistake of adding water parks without having a car. As long as use the AP next yr.

Most of the answers you got here are wrong.

It's about 1 mile - almost exactly. MapQuest, as usual, is wrong.

There is a wide sidewalk all the way, and pedestrian signals where you cross streets. I don't think you're likely to encounter any gators or snakes on the sidewalk, but they would be easily visible if there.

Unfortunately, shade is limited.

If you go, you walk straight out thru the AS Sports check-in parking lot across from the lobby; there is a crosswalk thru the lot that leads out to the sidewalk. (Don't walk along the entrance road.) You'll cross the main road (BVD) just before McDonalds, then stay on the other side of the street to Winter-Summerland Mini Golf. You enter thru Winter-Summerland, not thru the BB parking entrance. The path runs along behind W-S to the BB entrance.

I haven't walked it, but I have ridden it on a mobility scooter.

Google maps has it as 1.1 mile. The satellite view even shows the sidewalk. Why do people still use Mapquest?
I'm seeing 1 mile. Did you change the mode from driving to walking? The walking route shown by Google is almost perfectly aligned with the path on satellite view.

BTW, I've also drawn the path myself on Bing Maps (the old more useful version) and come up with 1 mile. Coincidentally, there's also a walking path from CSR which is also 1 mile.

Thanks for taking the time to research

Good to know you've done the little journey. Did you do it to save time or just wanted the exercise? So sounds like you were at All Star Sports recently. Do they really have a direct bus to BB or like the Typhoon bus, you have to make a connection (AK).

No, it was a couple of years ago. I had a pass for W-S, and just decided to explore the path from CSR to BB and from BB to AS Sports.

As of a year ago, there was a shuttle bus to BB which picked up at all 3 AS Resorts. I don't know whether or not it still runs, since they changed the bus routes to both BB & TL last year.

I did. When it's set to driving, it shows as 1.0 miles. Set to walking, 1.1.
Odd. We must have slightly different start or end points. I have noticed that sometimes the same place will be in Google multiple times with slightly different names; probably user-submitted edits.

I've walked from AS Sports to Winter Summerland several times. There is a sidewalk the entire way as others have said previously. It's not a bad walk at all. We've even done it with a four year old.

I wish I had known it was walkable last year, the thought didn't even cross my (lazy) mind lol. We followed the instructions of a CM at sports and had to bus to Epcot, then transfer to the Caribbean beach bus which eventually got us there. It was a loooong ride lol.

That would've been Coronado Springs; CSR is the bus from Epcot that continues on to BB. But there should have been either a direct bus or a connection at AK, either of which would have been much better. Or were you sent that way because the direct bus was full?

Doh! You're right it was CSR not CBR. The first CM said to go to AK and take the direct bus, but when we went to board the AK bus I asked the bus driver (probably shouldn't have done that!) and he said no, you have to go EP to CSR. So we did that.

Needless to say, it was a cluster!
