Have you gone to visit Celebration and if so, is it worth the trip offsite? What is there to do/see?

Thanks

It has been years but it is just a small city with homes, shops, movie theatre, restaraunts. We went during Halloween so the houses were decorated. Other then that I guess if you like to drive through cities. I wouldn't waste time.

We went at Christmas and it was nicely decorated. We also went for their community yard sale one year and found fun things to buy.

Hi, we always take friends on a fun real estate and lunch visit to Celebration when they want a little tour of the area.
You may know that it is marketed as one of the most strictly inforced HOA covenant communities in America. Almost all homes and condos are circa the 30's and 40's with lots of picket fences and big porches. No garages in sight and real alleys where they are located. Homes are from the mid 200K's to multi million dollar mansions. We usually end up downtown for lunch at the Town Tavern...
Drive around until you get lost and you will find some neat homes...

enjoy...Ted

We are going the W/E of July 29th. My DH and DS are Survivor fans and they are having a huge Survivor weekend. They have a pretty informative webpage for Celebration.

We ALWAYS go to Celebration to eat dinner on every trip, and usually 2-3 times in a 5-day trip. There are a number of good restaurants there, and several VERY good ones.

Our favorite restaurant in the Orlando area is Columbia in Celebration.

No it's not.

:lmao:

Please, come visit. Spend your tourist dollars here.

(ps: the movie theater closed in November).

I guess I stand corrected!

Must be the second most strict!!!!

Yes, I have gone to Colombia Restaurant a few times there. No, it is not worth a trip just to see Celebration itself.

It's been a few years since we visited Celebration but in November we plan to visit again. We enjoy getting ice cream from the ice cream shop (Herman's??) and sitting on a rocker by the lake and relaxing, away from all the activities for a while. :goodvibes

I second this! I snicker every time I read the Celebration HOA urban legend (and the fact that we supposedly have no garages in front and everyone has an alley...then what's that big car-holding building I stare at out my front window every day on the house across the street?).

That's Baldwin Park that you are describing.

We visited the ER at Celebration hospital and were less than impressed! Hopefully you won't be needing to visit there! :lmao:

Just visited Celebration last week. It is a great place to visit for a nice meal and a walk around town to do some shopping at the neat stores.

Last Sunday the street was closed and they had a farmers market there for the day. I am not sure if they have the market every Sunday or a certain Sunday of the month.

If you go with kids they have an area that they can run through sprinklers. Always see kids having fun and cooling off running through the sprinklers.

You can enjoy sitting in the rockers by the lake as well.

It is very relaxing and we love going to visit for a couple hours.

Visiting Celebration is a must for us every time we are in Orlando. We love getting pizza from Upper Crust and then walking around looking in the shops. Then we get ice cream from Kilwyn's and sit by the lake and enjoy the atmosphere. The last time we were in Celebration there was a baby alligator in the lake. Everyone was amused by it. It entertained us all for a very long time.

I would make a special trip to Celebration! It's an awesome town with an awesome name!

I ate at the Town Tavern restaurant and had the vegetable primavera (vegetables over linguini) for $14 -- excellent and reasonably priced.

I also like the local Starbucks for coffee & wi fi.

A stroll around the waterfront at night is pretty. There's interesting art work for sale that's displayed in the hotel.
