Has anyone used Turo before to "rent" a car?

Apparently it's like AirBNB but for cars and looks cheaper and they will pick you up at the airport.

Yes! We've used Turo three times in the past year, twice at MCO. Here's our experience...
First rental - brand new 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible. Pick up at MCO was easy. I used the Turo app and let the owner know I was there, then we met at one of the parking lots at the airport. The car was wonderful and exactly as described. We used it for going to Cocoa Beach before our WDW vacation. We had a ton of fun. Drop off was at Pop Century. We met the owner at the parking lot outside our room, took our final pictures, and we were done. Very easy and smooth transaction.
Second MCO experience was in June. Needed a minivan for 6 people for a week around Orlando for our kids' volleyball national tournament. Rented an older model, 2012 minivan. It had more dings and wear/tear than I was used to with rentals, but it was pictured and described in the listing. The owner parked the vehicle in the ramp at Terminal B and I used the EZ Pass to get in and out of the ramp. The owner paid the parking, I was responsible for all other tolls, billed through the app about a week later. This rental was very easy as well, and although I don't think I would rent this particular vehicle again, it wasn't the fault of the owner or Turo, just that we were trying to save some money on a van rental.
Price to rent a convertible from Alamo was $79/day, Hertz was $67, and Turo (total with tolls, taxes, fees) was $31. Price to rent a minivan with National was $55/day, Alamo was $57, and Turo was $29.
As long as you know what you are getting yourself into (read the owner reviews AND the vehicle reviews), pick a vehicle you are comfortable with, and drive the car like it is your own, Turo can save you a ton of money, time, and hassle. We love the flexibility of pick-up/drop-off locations and times, the variety of vehicles, and the personal connection to call someone if you have a question or concern. For example, the back-up camera on the Mustang stopped working part-way through our trip. We called and the owner apologized, tried to trouble-shoot with us over the phone, and scheduled a service call while we were at the beach. Not all owners are amazing, but most are. We also like that when you use Turo, you don't have a huge hold on your debit card. We don't like to use credit cards so when we rent we always end up with a giant block of several hundred dollars on our checking account during a rental and it doesn't get refunded until about 1-2 weeks after the trip. With Turo you pay when you book the vehicle and there is no hold on any account. Love that!

If you have any other questions, let me know! We are fans of Turo.
