Much as I love Disney, it's nice to do other things for vacation so I was wondering what the opinion is about using points for non-Disney hotels.
Like when me and my high school friends get together in the City it would be great to use my points for a night or two at the Parker Meridian. Or if the family wants to spend a few days in Boston and take in a "Sawks" game, we could stay at Nine Zero Hotel or spend a few days at the Sagamore in Lake George. Or maybe a week in Cancun or Punta Cana. Or go to Europe.
I just think if we have the ability to get the room on points and not pay cash, it makes sense but I'm not sure how easy it is. When I tried to see what was available for a week Key West I had trouble finding dates that were available. I guess I could call but we're not ready to book anything yet.
