We arrive in Orlando a week from today!:banana:

My son and his 3 buddies are heading to Universal for one day - Friday, March 23. :scared1: We were planning to buy the deal through DU and "hope" the boys are allowed in early as has happened to some others.

Has anyone used that deal lately and were you allowed early entry?

Another related question - The guys will not be returning to WDW after their day at IOA. We are hiring a car service to pick them up and bring them to PC. Is there a particular place car services pick up passengers?

We went in September last year & they had no problems in letting us in early(which btw is a great time to finish up WWOHP without much if any of a wait. We both got right in & selected for Ollivanders shortly after early entry.) Not sure if that changed but I would just head to the turnstiles & try, the worst they can say is no.

There is a central Guest Drop Off location at the base of the central rotunda of the parking structure. Don't worry...everything is very well marked...just follow the signs.

We were just there on Feb 13th and used the DU 1-day 2-park w/ transfer deal. The pickup was great, it was a small van shuttle. We chose the 7:15am pickup time, since the park officially opened at 9am. We got there right at 8am, and IoA was already open, so they opened 1hr earlier than posted.

The trip back to our Disney resort was horrendous. We actually didn't care for either Universal park much, so we opted for the earliest pickup time, which is 3pm. You walk back to where you were dropped off in the morning, and wait for a Mears bus. We were expecting another small shuttle, but it was a HUGE Mears bus that came to take people back to their Disney resorts. It took forever...so long, that we almost got off at any resort stop to then take a bus to any park and then hop on our own resort bus. It was bad. If you don't mind waiting 1 1/2 hours to possibly get back to your resort, you'll be fine. Just, don't expect the trip back to be as pleasant as the trip in the morning to the parks. ;)

We just purchased this deal for our trip in July. Any recs on which park to do first? Or any other tips?

Thanks! My son is 18 but I still worry!

That sounds rough. Luckily, the guys will be heading to Port Canaveral after their day at Universal so they will be riding in a luxury town car!:cool1:
