We're going to ASMovies next October and I'm wondering if anyone has used the Disney Resort babysitting service? Our boys will ber 9yo and 6yo at the time of our trip. I'm posting this on the Resorts board too.

Thank you so much! My dh and I would like to go to DTD for some "us" time, but only if the Disney babysitting service is truly wonderful, reliable, and above all, safe!

I have not..and it was some time ago as my daughters are now 20 and 23...but when we wanted to do something that was not of interest to the girls we would put them into the Neverland Club at the Polynesian. It was pricey...even then....but they had a blast! They would climb through the window (!!) and be sprinkled with Pixie dust and have a kids buffet supper and there would be all kinds of things for them to do. They would bring wildlife in with someone who would let them touch and learn about them and there would be a drop in from a Character or 2. It was great knowing they were having a really fun time too! The Contemporary also has a similar service....Mousketeers Club? Not sure what they called it..

I'd like to know too. Although I think our DS 3 is still a little too young. 9 and 6 are better ages for this service.

We used Fairy Godmothers when we were there in 2005. DW and I wanted a "night out" and hired the service. When she arrived, she really was the sterotypical picture of a sweet grandmother, coming over to look after the kids. She had a bag of craft supplies and books. The kids got to watch the bedtime story on Disney TV.

We weren't out late, but it was nice to have a night out at Downtown Disney and a nice, "quiet" dinner.

Our kids were 5 and 9 at the time and they had no problems with this plan.

I've used both Fairy Godmothers(FGM) & Kids Night Out (KNO) when my DD was 2 & 3. We had no problems. My husband and I had discussed that we would cancel our date if we didn't feel comfortable with the sitter. Both times we were impressed with the sitter. The 1st one (FGM) was a grandmotherly type. She came equipped with a suitcase full of age appopriate toys. We came back and my DD was fast asleep.
The second time (KNO) it was for my DD as well as my DN 4 & 6. When we called and reserved they asked what type of sitter we would like, Grandmothely, Motherly or Younger. We said Motherly. A college student finishing her masters showed up. She had movies with her that she asked us if we were ok with the selection. She also had books. The kids loved her. We came back and all 3 were asleep!

we are going in December and have a 7 yr old and a 15 yr old. I'm wondering if anyone ever left their older children alone in the room while going out to make a quick trip to DTD. Not for long but for a short time.
