I'm on a budget but my MIL said theother day she'd like to get some of her discontinued china.......ding, ding, ding! A possible Mother's Day or birthday idea!!

Anyone? or can you recommend some place else to locate discontinued china?

I used them to find my moms china pattern from 35 years ago. I was very pleased with the service. They even send you updates when they get new items in stock of your pattern.

Not recently but we have placed several orders from them in previous years. No problems at all!!

Yes, I have. I bought my china when it was being discontinued because I had had my eye on it for years and it was my last chance. Unfortunately, during the middle of the night a few years later, the shelf in the cupboard gave out and all my dishes crashed. :scared1: Lost quite a bit. :sad1: When I was visting my brother, who lived in Greensboro at the time, I walked into their store and found many pieces from my pattern. I was able to replace everything. Not only could I not get the dishes anywhere else, but they were a fraction of the original price. I recommend them highly!

We've used them for ours, and my MIL also picked up a couple of pieces.

I've used them as well. Great experiences each time I've used them. They're even great with returns!

Yup! I've used them to buy extra pieces for my Mother's 40+ year old china set. It was a really obscure pattern that she bought slowly through her bank (?!) - I guess she got a place setting for each level of savings she reached (sounds so funny in this day and age). But...her butter dish was dropped (and smashed) and I went on a search to replace it for her because she was heartbroken. And low and behold - they had her pattern AND the butter dish!! I've since picked up additional place settings for her too. Highly recommend them - great customer service too!

Another good place to look is ebay. I've bought my grandmother's china pattern both from Replacements and ebay and money wise have done much better on ebay (it just doesn't come up often).

Used them to replace crystal glassware by Lenox that was discontinued. Good service :)

I haven't bought from them, but as an ebay seller, I've sold to them several times and they have always been wonderful to deal with.

I second the advice to check ebay for what you are looking for.

Another vote of confidence for Replacements. I have used them several times and have always received prompt and courteous service.

I priced some of my pieces at Replacements and was shocked at the prices. I was able to eventually pick up everything I wanted on E-bay at a fraction of what Replacements wanted. You do have to be patient if you go the E-bay route though. ;)

I agree with cats_mom. I have used Replacements in the past with no problems, but they are extremely expensive. I was able to pick up many pieces of my china pattern on eBay for a lot less money. I would suggest checking eBay first.

Agreed. I've done this with two china patterns and two sterling patterns. Ebay is a much better deal.

I can't say enough good things about Replacements - both as a business and as a corporate citizen in my community. But, please remember that they are a specialty business, NOT a bargain china service. They charge retail prices and then some because they can. They are dealing in rare and often discontinued items, and they charge what the market will bear. By all means check Ebay, but if Replacements has what you want and you know you won't find it anywhere else, it's a wonderful, wonderful company to do business with!!!

I have looked online, it's seemed a little more expensive than I could get my discontinued pattern at the outlet store-they were 2nd's though. However, if you pattern is no longer available even at the outlets, you may want to check out ebay. I've seen my pattern there for less than Replacements. Just a thought.

When I didn't get my pattern completed at my bridal shower, my mom gave the money to complete the set. Took a long to go out to actually buy it, only to discover it was discounted. I was heart broken.

I was able to find it in Replacements and completed the set. They were great.

Replacements customer service is excellent! I've bought discontinued pieces from them and tried to sell some too, but they suggested I go to a local shop they work with and the local shop actually gave me better money for the pieces I was selling.

I needed 3 salad plates and 1 bowl to complete my great-grandmother's china that I inherited. The bowl and 1 of the plates were fine, but the other 2 plates were discolored and didn't look as nice as my set. No problem returning them. They'll even go into the warehouse and look at a piece and describe it to you before they ship it - that's amazing customer service :thumbsup2
