Has anyone used Orbitz and triggered their "Price Assurance"?

I'm looking at booking flights for my family to go to Seattle with Continental. Continental is not flexible the way Southwest is with regard to ticket pricing and issuing credits if the fares drop. So, I was looking at Orbitz and their Price Assurance program where if another Orbitz customer books the same flight for less, then they will automatically refund you the difference to get you the lowest, net price. I was just wondering if anyone actually had this happen for them?

I would tend to be a bit skeptical as to whether this 'paid off' for anyone, mostly because its not just any price drop that triggers the refund...it has to be that another Orbitz customer actually purchased the lower priced airfare.

The chances of that happening are probably like hitting the lottery.

And, it has to be the exact same flight on the exact same date. Same thing for the hotels policy. If someone books the exact same hotel for less and the exact same check-in date but checks out a day later, it isn't a match.

Yeah, I did see that...I was thinking that if I used them, I would book my roundtrip and split it into 2 one way tickets and that would hopefully increase my "odds".
