Has anyone used DVC Rental's Confirmed Reservations successfully?

I've never rented points before but have been committed to the idea in order to be able to take our kids to Aulani for our 20th anniversary. I've been shopping around and inquiring for early next year but then I saw an available Confirmed Reservation on the DVC Rental site for prime dates for us in this coming holiday season. Airfare looks good so I jumped on it and put down the 25% deposit. This was yesterday and I don't have a confirmation # yet. DVC Rental says now they work with the member to transfer the reservation and that usually takes 24-48 hrs but can be longer, depending on the member's availability. Question for the forum: what are my chances of success here? I'm ready to start booking flights, experiences, etc. but of course won't until I have a confirmation # in hand. I am however totally hyped up and need to know if I'm allowed to get my hopes up🤪. Has anyone here ever seen these Confirmed Reservations fall through/be a bust?
 
Yes. We have several times. We have rented out our confirmed reservations and rented the confirmed reservations of other members. It does take time to get the names switched over. The member has to actually call member services. The name switch has to be done a certain way so that the new guests can link the reservation to their MDE account.

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I'll sit tight before I start panicking then. The room rack rate for the same dates is $12k vs $5500 for the confirmed reservation so more than a significant savings - I can't justify it without it being on points honestly!
 
We've also rented reservations that we ended up not being able to use ourselves. Very easy on our end, so I would expect the same for you as a renter. :-)
 
The process itself is pretty quick. Requires a phone call or chat to MS.

But, it obviously requires the owner to find time to do it and they probably give renters that timeframe in case it does take them longer.
