Has anyone used Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, or anything similar while in an RV at the Fort? If so, was the package delivered on time, was it kept at Bell Services (not sure what that really means at the Fort), and how were you notified?

We're going to be there for an extended period and wondered about using one of these for our meals.

Thanks

First of all :welcome:

That's an interesting question that I cannot recall seeing before. It certainly makes sense in some cases. The typical discussions regarding any food delivery are the local vendors and they typically deliver straight to the site.

Perhaps someone will be along that has done this. You could try and call the check-in office at Fort Wilderness directly and ask to see if they have any specific information on this. 1-407-824-2900

Of course, if you do call them, if you wouldn't mind posting again here and let us know what you found out.

Here's what I know at this point. If the vendor ships via UPS or FedEx, it delivers directly to the Fort which is good. I've had several items come in and I get a call within 10 minutes of the txt message letting me know the delivery occured.

I've got some meat coming in this week. I'll post up how that delivery worked out as soon as I get it. Once we work through that, we'll do the HelloFresh order & try that. This seems to be a good way to get meals in without having to go out to the grocery.

Off topic a bit but we did find a good Publix about 15 minutes away on 535 (out Vista Blvd & turn left).

Have never tried Blue Apron personally, but from listening to reviews, know it would never work for us. Yes, it's fresh ingredients, with limited meat, but having to prepare, (even have to chop), plus cook it myself would take the 'convenience' out of it JMO - don't mind shopping for my own fresh ingredients. It would still take 'time' when you are tired, etc. and would like a meal asap.

I think it's quite expensive at $10 per person. I would rather eat out, not have to prepare, or clean up, or otherwise, because I enjoy cooking, would definitely choose, prepare, and cook my own fresh meals for lots less $$'s. Again, JMO :goodvibes

I thought I'd add our results with Omaha Steaks. The box came in UPS to the Fort front desk. I have my UPS tracker set to txt me with status changes. I got a call from the front desk (Mary) within 10 minutes of the text message so it works well. Just make sure that whatever you have sent comes by UPS or FedEx, I can tell you that the Orlando Post Office is a 1 day delay for sure (priority mail). Once priority mail delivers to Disney, it's about 6 - 10 hours to the Fort.
