Has anyone used a regular frame to frame pins??

I have about four sets now that I really need to try and frame. I live in a little "Nowhere" town and we don't have a Michales or a Craft Store. If you can't get it at Wal-Mart you can't get it.

Anyway I was just wondering if it is possible to use a regular frame to frame your pins or should I not even waste my time trying?

We are going to Memphis in about a month and they have a Michaels there...should I wait and get the deep frames?

Hi Beth,

I just framed my Princess Ball Map and pins in a regular frame. I examined a framed pinset that I had purchased directly from Disney and tried to copy what they did. Here is what I came up with (I hope this makes sense):

Get a piece of foamboard (that stuff people use to make big posters...it's kind of two thin sheets of cardboard with spongy stuff inbetween). Cut to the size of the frame (ie 8x10 if the frame is 8x10). then cut out the center of the foamboard so that the edge is about 1/4 inch narrower than your mat.

So, place frame face down, put mat in frame, then foamboard, then your map or whatever...you may have to do some taping to hold things in place. turn it over carefully to make sure that foamboard is not showing, and if all is well, put the back on the frame and seal it up. The foamboard puts a space between the mat and the pins so they are not touching the glass. Email me if you want me to explain further

I re-read really closely and I think I get it now! Just a little slow here I'm going to Wal-Mart tomorrow and try it. It does sound like it would work!! Did the back of the frame fit okay?
