Has anyone used a double jogging stoller at the parks?

Which way is the best to go? Double jogging stroller, double front/back stroller or a sit n stand stroller for a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 yr. old? Any advice is appreciated. Worried that the double strollers might be too bulky in the parks, but thinking that I would feel bad if my 3 yr. old wanted to sit in a more comfortable seat like his sister. I've never used a sit and stand before, but can borrow it from a friend for our trip.
Thanks!!

My DD's are 3 1/2, 20 mos and a 2mos old. I've done the double side by side lightweight Peg double Aria and most recently my Mountain Buggy double Urban. I love my MB and use it almost daily for walking, but last year I was hesitant to bring it on the plane. It's so heavy and I didn't want it to get wrecked on the plane. So, I used that Aria and hated every minute of it. I found it difficult to push with two kids of different weight.

This year I decided that it would be much easier in the parks with the MB and it was. No problems getting through crowds. The only tough part was the monorail. All the people with singles could just push it on, however we had to fold ours up each time.

So, my feeling is go with the stroller that you will be most comfortable pushing. For me, that was my MB. I've never tried the sit & stand kind, but think that might be a nice option too. My 3 year old walked most of the time because they were getting in and out of the stroller so often. So, maybe I'll use the sit & stand kind next time we go. I hope this helps a little. :sunny:

The wide strollers may be difficult to get through crowded areas, I'd go with the front/back one.

And with a 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 yr old, I'd want them both to have a place to sit and rest, so I wouldn't opt for the sit/stand style at all.

Are you going by yourself? If two adults are going, I'd opt for two strollers. You'd have more flexibility for planning - if one child falls asleep, one parent could rest in a shady spot, or just stroll around with the napping child, while the other parent takes the second child to another area for more rides, etc. One of my fondest memories of our first WDW trip was strolling around EPCOT while my 2 1/2 yr old napped in her umbrella stroller. Hubby got to take the 5 yr old on Figment, HISTA, etc.

Ah, those were the days! Now I can't keep up with the kids!

We used a side-by-side (not jogging-type) stroller. It is a Kidco Maverick, and I highly recommend it. My 3 1/2 yo definitely needs a reclining seat as he napped every day in the park. I personally would not recommend a double jogger because it would probably be too wide to fit into the shops and even onto the monorail.

I had read somewhere that any stroller that is less than 32" wide can fit through the doorways of businesses that are required to accommodate wheelchairs. My stroller is about 31" wide, which was one requirement I had when I was shopping for it. We easily strolled onto the monorail using the handicapped entrance. The only requirement is that if someone in a wheelchair comes along, you have to let them go on ahead of you, so you may have to wait for the next monorail. That only happened to us once.

I don't have any experience with a tandem (front-to-back) stroller, but I find that my sbs is extremely easy to maneuver, and it turns on a dime. No problem pushing around kids of different sizes either (I've been using mine since my children were ages 2 years and 2 months).

Just a few things to think about. But if your child has outgrown naps and doesn't need the reclining seat, then go for the sit-and-stand, or even the tandem double if that's what you prefer.

I just ordered a Kiwi E3 on Saturday and plan on taking it with us to WDW when we go next year. At the time I will have a 8 month old and a 2 year old. It's a pretty interesting tandem jogging hybrid type stroller with a detachable 2nd seat. I have heard great things about and can't wait to try it out this week. The great thing about it is that it's very narrow and manueverable since it's got a swivel front wheel. I ordered mine from www.kiwi-kid.com
