Hi all,

I recently ordered WEN and thought this will be great!! I did my research first and found that for Curly hair it is a good option.

I have used it for 4 days now and my hair is disgusting!! It is like straw, it is frizzy and I have never seen it more unmanageable in my life!! (Kind of like when I used Sun In for a whole summer when i was 14 - LOL).

I was wondering, how long does it take to work? Has anyone tried and what waws your experience?

TIA

I've not used WEN, but I have curly hair that I've fought with forever. I started the Curly Girl Method in March, and haven't washed my hair since. And my frizz is gone, the curls are great! I would never have imagined it possible. I use LA sport gel every morning, but that's it.

Hi lovesmurfs!

Can you tell me how long it took to get your hair de-frizzed?

I think this is roughly the same process, as WEN is an anti-shampoo type product.

Thak you for the information! I am going to compare the ingredients in the WEN to what you have given me.

Like I said, I am just wondering how long it took?? And, did your hair get worse before it got better??

I tried WEN, but after a couple weeks couldn't stand it anymore. I have wavy hair that tends to frizz. WEN just left my hair looking dirty and it felt gross. I sent it back for a refund. I'm still trying to find something that will take out the frizz.

I, too, had absolutely awful luck with WEN after a few weeks.

I'll look into that curly girl method!

I have very thick and wavy hair. The trick with WEN is to make sure that you use enough of it. The times when I didn't use enough is when it looked greasy. I know that it seems strange to use that much, but it is true. basically you need about 5-10 pumps for each section of hair (front, back and each side). Then really work it in. Also, when you rinse make sure that you rinse it for a very long time. WEN really works for me in the winter when the cold dry air is brutal. Wishing you better luck.

I have naturally wavy/curlish hair, fine. I looked into the WEN system, but dang, it's expensive, and people fussed about the first few weeks and how it looked... most weren't using enough because of the cost.

Another google session brought me to understand that it's the detergent in the shampoos that was making my hair frizzy.... now, I buy the VERY CHEAPEST hair conditioner I can find... (Dollar Tree has a quart for a buck!) and use a heaping handful of this stuff... work it in, massage into your scalp well, and rinse REALLY well. Then rinse again.

I use products in my hair afterwards.... a heat protector, a smoothing spray, a shining something... but my hair is great now... doesn't frizz, feels stronger, and saving lots of money on shampoos!
