Before you arrive? I have a friend who is a frequent visitor to the world, who used to, especially when her kids were younger and needed diapers and wipes, etc, ship herself a package to the resort, mark it for delivery to Bell Services to hold until her check in date (which was also marked on the package).

She said that Bell Services would just hold the package, and when she checked in, she could pick it up. I am thinking of shipping myself some provisions right before our February family trip to Shades of Green, but wonder if any of you Disers might have some experience with this.

We don't intend to rent a car, by the way.

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

I had a package shipped to the WL for our trip last December. I sent it by UPS to arrive the day before we did. Make sure to include your name, reservation number and arrival date on the package. The package was delivered to our room within a half hour of check-in.

Be sure to use UPS because USPS doesn't deliver directly to the hotel and can cause a delay in arrival of your package.

I know someone else who shipped medical supplies for their special-needs son, and it worked well for them. UPS, not the Post office.

We've done that the last two trips and they had the package there when we checked in. Sometimes you have to remind them that its there though. I don't think alot of people mail themselves packages on vacation. :goodvibes

when we went to CBR with our 2 kids. Shipped 3 large suitcases down via FedEx Ground. It was cheaper and faster than UPS. It cost us about $45 for everything and was worth every penny! Like the OP said, mark it with your name, reservation, and arrival date, and it'll be there when you check in.

We have shipped many times. For expensive insured items, we include the name of the Resort manager on the package for their signature.

Excellent experience doing this last December. Trying to decide if we will do it again this year ...

We shipped a homemade gift basket to POR last trip as a surprise thank you to our parents. As we were checking in, they said you have a package and my mom was wondering what it could be. it was great fun and she was in tears!

We also shipped more practical supplies on a past trip when we stayed in fort wilderness in a wilderness home. it has a kitchen, so we shipped canned goods and non-perishable food items, paper towels etc. It was waiting at check in for us as well.

We have shipped to the AKL, WL and the YC.

Make sure you place attn bell services on the label.

This helps id where the box needs to go and will save time in the front desk tracking down the package.

When packing the essentials for the trip down I include packing tape and a premade address label for the trip home.

That way we can place our souvies in the box and mail them home. On the day or day before checkout I take the box to the resort front desk and ship it from there. You can ship either ups or fed ex (depending on how fast you want your souvies to get home).

Last July I tried shipping the new Harry Potter book to myself at the Grand Floridian via Amazon.com which guaranteed delivery on the first day it was out. They ship via UPS.

I checked by the concierge desk first thing in the morning to let them know I was expecting a package. I checked by there again after we got back from lunch and we checked UPS tracking and it said it arrived around 10am at the hotel. So the concierge went to look for it.

We went out to the pool and about 4pm got back to the room again and the package was on the door. In a Disney bag (not a box from Amazon). And I found a price tag on the back of the book. So it seems to me that the concierge, unable to locate my package, must have had someone run out to buy it (or had them send it over from the English Bookstore at Epcot which was the only place supposedly selling it in the parks).

Which is a great service recovery story for a Deluxe hotel but possibly would have been less of a home run for Disney if I hadn't been ordering something they could easily just go out that day and buy.
