Has anyone tried to iron on to fleece blankets? I was thinking of doing some for the kids as we are driving down in the winter and they can use them in the car.
Do you want to iron on a trasfer design to the fleece blankets?
It can be done, but tend to come up off the blanket because of the nature of the fleece. In order to get a good transfer you need heat, which can melt fleece... , and a good firm fix to the fibers. That is really hard since fleece is so fluffy and has a pile, which is why fleece is so cuddly... And the other major problem could be the presure needed for a good transfer...
So if you really, really want to do this I would say get a piece of fleece from WalMart or a fabric store, 1/4 to 12 yard. And try it with some practice transfers. If it works then you can make car pillows... and if not you haven't lost a lot of money!
Now if you want to machine embrodiery that is a whole 'nother thing! Easy and cute to do. Lots of info on line!
