I hope it's okay to post this here! I was just wondering if anyone has tried those Airborne effervescent (sp? LOL) lozenges with herbs and vitamins in them to prevent colds when traveling?

I am thinking of taking some along just in case...never tried them, just heard about them today and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.

Thanks!

Im interested too since every time my husband flies he comes home with a cold!

I use them all the time! They are wonderful! We evne use them when we will be going to conferences and big cities and shows. When SARS was a concern here we took them before going out to to the big cities.

We like the ones you drop in wather though. They taste pretty good. Also AIRBORNE is a business started by a stay at home mom. So that is cool. She was on Oprah last week..

LOVE THE STUFF - AND SWEAR BY IT!!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

I am into natural health anyway and found it was difficult to boost my son (now 10) with my usual doses of Vit C and Garlic (kids can't handle taking those big vitamins) when a cold is starting. The key is to start ASAP with sniffles, etc.. with a cold, or I use prior to airline flights, being in crowded places during winter when colds/flu are prevalent, exposed to someone that is really sick, etc... When my son starts sniffling and has his typical symptoms - red cheeks or red ears (must be prominent in redheads), I give him (2) doses a day. 1 in the morning before school and one at night. It makes the difference of a child being grumpy from restless sleep and they can manage much better than going through without anything!

My husband and I both take when we feel were getting low immune systems.

Good luck, definately try it - I suggest before flight and after flight and up to 2 days after to keep immune system boosted.

I go thru at least 8-10 tubes/year.

Thank you so much for the info! I will definitely pick some up before we go!

Would love to hear more stories on this stuff too hopefully will help other folks as well.

Is this the stuff that has the commercial with Greg Brady in it? I am glad to read the reviews here, because if this is the commercial/product I am thinking of...I would never buy it based SOLELY on the hokey ad!
So what is the administration? Tablet/liquid/chewable?

Ive never seen heard about it. Can you get it at a local drug store or Walmart? Can you use it with small kids (ie 2 yr old)? Im going to look into it now especially with the flu vaccine situation (if it would help with that). Thanks!

Yes, you can get it at Walgreens, CVS and Walmart along with many other chains. I suggest you go to their website at www.airborne.com. On their website they listed Walmart along time ago, but my Walmart just received it in - almost after a year.

Yes, they have childrens doses, but you can also buy the adult version and give half a tab. I've been using on my son since he was 5. That is when I first heard about, otherwise before then I treated since he was a baby with homeopathy.

Thanks for the info! I just heard about this at my drs office and I will be looking for it at Wal-Mart tomorrow.

And Dizzy for Dsny...I went to the web site you highlighted and it's for DHL - the original airborne! :)

My family has been using Airbourne for three years now. It used to be that I could only get it at drugstore.com, but now it's all over the place. There is a grape flavor for kids, an original (orange) flavor and a lemon-lime flavor. It's like an alka-seltzer tablet, in that you drop it in water and it fizzes. They come 10 to a tube.

Here's an example... Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and that general clogged-up, achy feeling. I took an Airbourne in some orange juice after breakfast and by the afternoon I was feeling better. I took another one last night and today I feel fine. It's doesn't always work so well, but it does seem to either knock out the cold or lessen the symptoms and duration of a cold.

Here's a tip... I get the original flavor and put it in orange juice for an extra boost in flavor and vitamins.
