Has anyone traveled from DL to the Staples Center?

If so, what form of transportation did you use and how did it go?

We are going to DL in February and plan to see a Lakers/Celtics game while we are there (ironically our Red Sox were playing the Angels while we were there in August and we went to that too). We are thinking of renting a car for the day, but we arent sure about how the driving/parking situation would be. Does anyone have any info/advice on that?

Ideally I would like to spend some time late morning/early afternoon in the Hollywood area, just to see some of the touristy stuff, maybe have lunch somwhere there, then go to the game(its at 4:30). But I dont know how feasible that would be.

Is there public transportation that might be a better option than driving? Any other ideas?

The drive isn't bad. we pass ot everytime we leave my brother's house in Hollywood going to Anaheim. You might want to check with your hotel and see if they have a shuttle you can take from the Anaheim area. Just an idea.
