We were upgraded to these two from 2 cat 12's gty for our family of 6.(we did want connecting rooms.)I was thrilled with the upgrade but others are reporting that its notoriously noisy.can you share your experience? I'm not concerned with day time noise, but am a very light sleeper.TIA :guilty:

we were in 2520 for one of our first cruises...very very loud!!!!If you are a light sleeper, particularly if you go to sleep prior to 1230, I would avoid this stateroom at all costs...

It is directly below one of the nighttime clubs, specifically one that plays loud thumping music well into the night (1 am)...I think this specific stateroom may be directly below the actual sound system in the club...

On subsequent cruises after the one we stayed in 2520, this stateroom always seemed to be available at the last minute....we tend to book our shorter cruises 6-8 weeks in advance....TA would always call me with this stateroom as a choice....

In addition, I'm not fond of the actual fwd location, and prefer aft near elevators as being closer to most of the venues we used most....

I tend to be a very light sleeper also, so I always have a set of foam ear plugs in my bag at all times. Even a door opening or closing in the hall will wake me up. Good luck!

Since this was an upgrade for us,what do you suggest we do? I'm sure if I request a different room(s) we will be bumped back down to our Cat 12's.Would you give up this cat 9 for a cat 12? :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

We we're more forward than your stateroom. We were not under any of the night clubs and no noise at all. We liked the location and very little hall traffic.

if given the choice between sticking with 2520/2518 and your original cat 12, i'd take the upgrade....

I would take the upgrade anyday, even with the noise. You are gaining the split bathroom which rates pretty high in my book. Just pack the ear plugs.

Thanks everyone. Not going to worry about it.Could always put the kids in the noisier room
