A number of years ago when we went to Las Vegas, I just rented out points and used the cash to stay at The Bellagio, I've been looking again and didn't see anything including RCI which has only 1 place listed for us, has anyone stayed in the RCI accommodations in Las Vegas or should I just rent points out again and get the best bang for my buck staying at a place of my choice.

I have stayed at all 3 of the Hilton clubs in Las Vegas. I would suggest looking at the one at the Flamingo. The rooms are nice and recently remodeled. The location is center strip and they have a private pool and allow you to use th Flamingo super pool.

They do have 2 other locations, one by the convention center and one by circus circus. They are nice and great but the location of the flamingo is the best if your traveling the strip. For conventions I prefer the one by the center.

I am a Hilton club member so I must say that. With DVC club dues I might think you look at some options as with the deals in vegas right now you can rent rooms at hilton.com starting at 80.00 for a studio depending upon the time.

As cheap as rooms are in Las Vegas these days, I would think you could do better staying on cash.

We stayed at the Hilton down past Circus Circus and loved it but don't think I'd trade DVC for it (we traded another timeshare). Only go that route if you need a 1 or 2 bedroom or full kitchen, but even those can be rented more cost effectively than trading DVC.

We'll stay at a Hilton again sometime when we need the space but not on a DVC trade. I'd say to rent out your points and stay where you want to stay.

LV is one of those places that's overbuilt with a fair amount of availability, almost as bad as Orlando and Branson. It's also a great place to get cheap rooms or cheap timeshare rentals. As such, you're always going to be trading down compared to what you're giving up. What I would do would depend on when you're going, the numbers in the group and the LOS. Remember there is an additional housekeeping fee for less than 7 nights though I think it's only $35 regardless of unit size which is about the cheapest you'll see. This thread may help on resort choices.
