Has anyone stayed in a HA Boardwalk Inn room with roll in shower?

We just booked a stay at the Boardwalk Inn (standard room, NOT a Villa room) for October. My dbf has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice or tell me about their stay there?

Thanks, I had seen those and was hoping for more . Well the bright side is if I don't see any more pictures or read anything about their stay I can share all the pictures I will be taking!

We haven't stayed in a BW room with a roll in shower (we haven't stayed at BW yet), but we have stayed at WL and Pop with a roll-in shower. I would be happy to answer any questions I can.

Thanks how big was WL's shower area compared to Pop? I transfer Bill and we usually use a shower chair over the attached one because he only has use of his left hand and the grab bar isn't in the right place for him if he is on the seat that is attached to the wall.

We have stayed at Pop, POFQ, and POR roll in shower rooms. Pop has spoiled us with how big the shower area is over the older resorts. I always get nervous when we try a new resort.

Actually, WL Bathroon is quite a bit smaller than Pop's, because the sink and toilet are all in there together. It is more long and narrow than it is wide. If I remember correctly, the grab bar was across from the seat just like in the BW picture. The sink is a long. I really wasn't sure how a WC would have fit in there, especially someone that was in a powerchair or a larger chair.

Mom's only problem was that she couldn't lift her legs to get over the side of the tub even with a transfer bench, so that is why we requested a roll in.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom a few years back, It's just the one bedroom and studio connected. The roll in in the studio is just your regular ADA compliant 3 foot square shower, in some what of a smaller room. Something like that would not work for us since DW needs a rolling comode. But on the one bedroom side it was a nice, large, tiled roll in shower. Plus the room itself was very large. That worked great for us. Both did have hand held shower heads and fold down benches if that works for you. Never did use the tub that is also in the one bedroom.

We have stayed at the BWV a couple times in the 1 BR HA room with a roll in shower. The room itself is great. The bathroom is HUGE, and like most roll in showers, it floods a bit, but nothing that a couple towels can't fix.

It seems like the area around the master bed were a little tight and things like the counters were not as adjusted as like the BLT.

The biggest drawback was that the room was right by the elevator. So if you are a light sleeper, that could be disrupting.

Overall, love the BWV and would recommend it.

Oh, and be aware of the door leading out to the boardwalk, it opens VERY fast.
