hi just wondering , tried to get 3 nites at pop for next week but could only book one of the nites, so i was thinking about the hilton. anyone stayed there, is it worth it or is there another preferred hotel anyone could recommend, thanks in advance:cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :dance3:

Except for transportation to the parks, the accomodations, services and facilities at the Hilton at Downtown Disney would beat any value resort hands down IMO.

We stayed there for 5 nights last Nov. The convenience to DTD can't be beat...u can also walk 5 min to the DTD bus stop and catch disney buses from there also...

The trans to the parks isn't bad...The MK is prob the longest wait...you also get the benefit of the EMH with the Hilton, which is why we stayed there (there was no avail at the Epcot resorts when we booked)...

Not only would I recommend the Hilton over any Value resort, depending on the rate you get we had a great rate) I would recommend it over any moderate as well...

We love the Hilton - just a walk across the street to Downtown Disney. Yes, sometimes the buses can be slow but there never was a problem with seating on the way to the parks since it was normally the first pick up. The bus service was no worse than those packed going to/from the value hotels (except for Pop that has its own bus). The convenience of walking to the downtown area is great. The rooms are very nice and we like to eat at Benihana's at least once. We will be back there next week for 2 nights before moving to BCV. It seems like Pleasure Island's attraction has worn off the last time we were there in the spring but my son love's to spend an evening at the Lego Store where they have the outdoor play area and I get to relax and read a book.

hmm, i just looked at the link given, the accomodations look much more luxurious than the poly. i'm wondering if the convenience of the poly is really worth several thousand dollars more. (i would never stay at a disney moderate or value) It appears you can even get a room with a great view of fireworks.

Cara Loves the Poly, I stayed at the Hilton at DTD in May for business before switching to the Dolphin. The Hilton is very nice. I was upgraded to a junior suite based on my Hhonors Diamond status. The room had been renovated in greens and yellows and included Hilton's version of the "Heavenly Bed". The bathroom was not as nice as those at the Polynesian but still o.k.

With the Polynesian you are paying for location and over-the-top theming. The Hilton rooms are probably as comfortable (maybe a it smaller), but definitely worth considering, especially if you rent a car and drive to the parks.

We stayed at the Hilton about four years ago. We received a great price through Priceline ($79) a night for two nights. Everything about the hotel is great. If I remember the rooms are about the size of a Mod. The pool is nothing special, the staff was great. The only problem we had was when we went to our room, there was a pile of trash in the middle of the room. It looked like housekeeping had put that there so they would not forget it and forgot it. We called front desk, they said that someone would be right up. We went to look around for about 20 min and we came back the trash was gone.

Anyway, it is a great hotel. I know that you will enjoy your stay there.

We've stayed at the Hilton before. Again...like all have said above. Walking distance to DTD, the bus service sometimes is slow..but sometimes onsite bus service is too. Plus you have EMH when staying there too.... so not a bad deal.

Parking update - its my understanding that starting in Dec 2007 they will start charging for self-parking $8 per day. BTW you don't get free parking at WDW parks.

We'll be staying at the Hilton the week after Christmas. MK has EMH every morning that week. In order to make hopping easier, I'd rather drive than take the Hilton bus. Will the parking lot at TTC be open 30 minutes before the EMH starts?:santa:

It's been several years since we stayed, but we liked the Hilton DTD.
My kids especially enjoyed feeding the turtles in the pond out in front of the property!:)
