Hi everyone!! I am new to this board, in fact we are new to this experience and very excited. We are going to wdw April 13- April 20 of this year. We have have never been. We are driving from New York state. My husband and myself and our 12 year old daughter are staying at the Grosvenor resort which is just outside the gate. We got a really really good deal. We have a room in the tower, where we can see the fireworks every night. What i'm wondering is, has anyone else stayed there??? And is getting around with the shuttles easy??? I'm sure I will have more questions as we go along, so any tips will be helpful. Thanks again Gingermom

Actually, the Grosvenor is on Disney property and is located right across the street from Downtown Disney. There have been mixed reviews of this hotel. The Tower rooms are the preferred location in this hotel. When search comes back up, you can use that function to read more reviews.

Edit the subject of your post (right under your original post there should be an edit button) to say looking for Grosvenor review or something similar & you might get more responses :)

I have also read mixed reviews, but for a good deal would happily stay there, especially in a tower room. Look at www.biddingfortravel.com for some reviews. Keep in mind that the people writing have won their rooms through priceline, typically paying under $50 per night.

And not to open a can of worms, but did you book through a travel agent? If not, or if you have a cancellable reservation, stick around here & the Resorts board. You may find an even better deal :)

re: shuttles - you'll have a car, so don't worry too much about it. If it doesn't work out, you can always use your car. Do you get free parking there? I don't think so but I don't know for sure.

I took care of that! Hope it helps!

We stayed there in a Tower Room and thought it was really nice. The hotel has a nice lobby area with a small restaurant and bar area and everything was very clean. We did see a regular room first and honestly were not real impressed, it was clean though.

We parked in the self parking area (I'm not sure now if there was valet) and it wasnt a bad walk.

We used the bus one day and its the same type of buses the Disney resorts use. We were there off season so the bus was not crowded and not alot of stops before ours. It beat parking and paying etc.
