Has anyone stayed at the Fountains Resort on S. Int'l Drive?

Hello,
My DH, DS (who will be almost 3) and I will be staying off site for part of our trip in early December and are currently booked at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. I have not stayed off site as an adult and frankly, it scares me a little bit. At least with Disney properties I know what to expect. I came across a place called the Fountains that appears to have what we are looking for in terms of the "villa" scenario. Does anyone have recent info on this place? The Bluegreen Vacation Rentals site sure makes it look pretty good, but you know how that goes...... I have found plenty of info on the Vistana (Resort not Villages), both good and bad, and it really seems like a hit or miss in terms of what you get there. The only info I can find on the Fountains is somewhat dated. I really like the idea of an indoor pool in case of bad weather and location seems pretty good. Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello Victoria and welcome to the Dis!
My Sister-in Law owns there and we used her week there last year and had a wonderful time! The pool is great and the water was nice and warm. They have many activities for the children also. It's location isn't too far from Disney property, it will take you about 10 to 15 minutes to get there from the Fountains. If you have any specific questions, just ask away!

We had a phenominal stay at the Fountains last year. The pool is part inside and part outside though-if severe weather hits, the pool is closed. Still plenty of other things to do on site.

Thanks so much for the input! I am really leaning toward switching from the Vistana to the Fountains. Where are the closest grocery stores? I am hoping to pick up some stuff on the way to the resort. Also, how was the check in process? Thanks again!

There is a grocery store maybe a half mile from the resort, at the most. I think it's a Publix if I remember correctly. Also a Walgreens right next door. Also, the Premium Outlets are on that road also and there is a Disney Outlet store there!

Thanks for the info Big V! Thanks for the great pictures too! I see you found the other identical thread. I have no idea how I sent it twice. I could try to blame it on DS messing with the computer, but it's most likely operator error on my part!

Our check in was very smooth, lasting no more than 5 minutes. We checked in at 6:00 AM though, due to travel delays.

Walgreen and Publix are around the corner, a long walk or a short drive. A Superwalmart is about 3 miles away on 535-this is a non touristy Wal Mart and a good spot to fill up the gas tank. Traffic is not an issue at that end of International Drive.
