Has anyone stayed at the Cambria Hotel?

Just saw a tik tok video on this hotel so I went to the website and it looks really nice and new and it's cheap (well if you don't want pool access) and not too bad price wise if you do want pool access.

Just wondering if anyone has stayed there?

Thanks,
Tina

Looks really nice. Good place to stay if you don't mind the shuttle to the parks.

That's the hotel I picked for our Thanksgiving trip! Definitely need to rely on the Art bus but the amenities seem great for the price.

Do you have to pay extra to use the pool?

we really wanted to check this place out but are a bit leary due to the big fight that happened there.

Yes! When you book you can book with or without pool/water park access. It's quite a bit difference in price too. We don't swim when we are there so it's not an issue for us. I can get a good rate for our Oct dates for a suite!

I had that thought too but that also happened in August 2020 when that entire area was practically a ghost town since Disneyland was closed. Sounds like it was a pretty isolated incident.

We stayed a lot in Anaheim when things were pretty much shut down (DTD was open) and it was a completely different crowd. Lots of parties and younger adults staying at the hotels. In fact one hotel we asked to leave almost immediately after check in when we realized they had everyone on one floor and it was a giant party. 😳 so we are still a bit scared from that! Lol.

That is crazy!! I had no idea!!! Thanks for the info.

So we stayed there a couple of days after that big brawl that happened last year while Disneyland and pretty much all the other hotels in the area were closed. The rooms were nice and so was the pool area. However, even with 2 hour reservation slots for the pool, it did get pretty crowded at night when they showed the Disney movie, the hot tub had no water and they shut down the waterslides. They had 2 security guards patrolling the pool (because of the brawl incident).

The guests also at the time seemed a bit rough, and a lot of people were cutting us in line to get on the elevators. Apparently the police had been called to Cambria numerous times ever since it opened. The walk to Disneyland is a bit far especially if you have kids (unsure if they have a shuttle now.) I honestly probably wouldn't stay there again, but the pool/waterpark area is fun for the kids AND there's a 7-11, Starbucks and food spots right next door.

I would check current Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews to see if it's better now.

Seems like everything from 2020 is super sketchy, exactly what you described, and most from this year are positive. I'm a bit weary though regardless now, hmmmm. I wonder if it being so close to the interstate just draws a sketchy crowd?

We’re staying in a couple weeks. I don’t think I saw anything regarding the pool reservation system. Yikes. Hopefully i can figure it out and get some times reserved.

Where do you go to find the price differences? I’m on the Cambria Anaheim site trying to figure out if we will have access in 2 weeks and can’t find anything that says water park access or anything similar. The closest I got was a sold out listing on Expedia, that said no access, so wasn’t able to see that price.

ETA: ok, I searched farther out and saw some bookings that said No Pool Access. I’m assuming if it doesn’t say that, we’ll have access. 🤣

also, I called the hotel and they weren’t much help, but they did say they weren’t doing the 2 hour pool reservations anymore. Anyone with pool access can come and go as they please.

On the Get Away Today website all their reviews (all are pre-covid) are extremely positive so I'm thinking the issues from 2020 might have just been the weirdness of the area with Disneyland being closed, etc. I'd love to hear anyone's perspective that stays there though!

I’ll keep you posted. I had high hopes for it until I found this thread! 🤣😂🤣. We check in on the 4th, I’m still excited, but will be cautiously optimistic now.

also, for those that haven’t seen and are going next month:

this offer is on the choice hotels app. It’s not difficult to become a member. I was able to combine with AAA discount and got $200 off my original reservation.
