How far is the walk to the DLR? Is it safe? What did you think of your stay? What hotel amenities are there?

I stayed there for one night in Dec in a "kids" suite. We're a family of 5 adults but the kids suite came with 2 queens and a full size bunk bed which was a nice bedding option. The bunk bed fit adults just fine. The hotel is about a year old, the room was in great shape, the rest of the hotel (breakfast area, pool, bar) also still in new shape. The parking is free valet because they are seriously short on space, so that's a bit awkward on arrival but a nice benefit after you figure out the system. The breakfast was worse then the typical chain free breakfast (I've had Residence Inn and Hyatt Place in Anaheim, both were better). There were lots of options and after tasting most of them our family ate the fruit and yogurt... We didn't walk to DL because we used the hotel as a place to crash for one night before transferring onsite. It's like a 5 min walk to Garden Grove with Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gumps, etc. I loved the easy to access plugs in the room. There was lots of space in the kids suite (technically it holds up to 7 adults) but there was only 1 bathroom. We got a good rate with a AAA discount.

The only reason I won't return is the placement of the air vent. There was a huge air vent that blew directly across one of the queen beds and made that person miserable. I've seen that set up in a number of newer hotels, but they had a sore throat the next morning so we prefer to avoid that configuration. Also there is a great roof top pool and lounging area on the roof with a view of the higher DL fireworks- but no hot tub.

I havn't stayed here, but i almost did on my last trip, so i have researched it a lot. The rooms and common areas look really great and the reviews seem very good, only major complaint that seemed to be repetitive was the parking situation. I think the best part is that it is on top of a cvs. It was well stocked, and everyone who worked there was extremely helpful and friendly. I can see it being a great asset to easily be able to grab water, snackies, etc. I am guessing the walk would be about 15 minutes from the hotel to bag check, give or take a couple minutes depending on how long you wait at the lights.

We just got back form a 4 night stay at the this Spring Hill Suites. The price was better than the other one which is behind Disneyland. We had a two queen suite. Our room was on the back side facing the Portofino Inn. It was very quiet. We could occasionally here someone up above and a little bit of noise form the hall. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Our suite only had a shower. No tub. The free breakfast buffet was typical with eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, fruit, yogurt and breads. It is a nice seating area but if you are not there early it is a madhouse. I have never seen that many people at a hotel breakfast buffet. There is a coffee store on the street level and the CVS, also on the street level, came in handy. We did not use the pool on the roof. It is fairly small and boxed in. The seating area is nice with views of Disneyland and DCA. We have stayed at many of the motels and hotels on Harbor and the walk was about 10 - 15 minutes depending on stop lights. It is as safe as any of the other walks. There are many people walking with you. I heard the the rooms on the front, overlooking Katella were subject to traffic noise. Service was good. We may go back as we enjoyed the extra room and the comfort. I still prefer to be closer to the crosswalk over to the parks but this one is fine.

And yes. I slept in the bed that the AC blew onto. I had to get the extra blanket out as it was very cold. But I slept great once I had that.

I stayed there last Labor Day. The walk isn't bad for a young person like me. Maybe a 15 minute walk or so to the bag check. The breakfast wasn't good. The waffles were partially frozen and the eggs were undercooked powder eggs. The best part about it was how much space there is in the room. CVS being downstairs is nice too

As far as the safety for the walk, I wouldn't worry about that. There are always lots of people around and you will be walking on the Disneyland side of harbor so there are less weird people about.

We stayed there in September and we are going back in April. Loved it there, breakfast was convenient, location was good and room was large.
