Has Anyone stayed at Residence Inn Orlando SeaWorld/International Center recently? What was your opinion of this hotel? We will be there for 2 days before we go to Disney.

We stayed there this past Oct. and the hotel was nice but I thought the room was a bit outdated. When I think Marriott, I always think of brand new and the room we were in was not that new. The pool was nice and the breakfast in the a.m. I would rate "average". Have fun, Linda

I have stayed at the RI in Lake buena Vista and it's nice. Usually the rates are less than the Seaworld location, , and it's a bit closer to Disney.

We must not stay in the same Mariotts. I find new looking rooms about half the time. Maybe less. Sometimes they are downright disappointing.

Sometimes the rooms are new but the hotel falls short in other ways. I'll never stay in the awful Rhode Island Spring Hill Suites we stopped at in October.

Homewood Suites is usually my first choice and Residence Inn my second. Usually they are pretty decent, though I haven't stayed in this one, which I believe is fairly new. I remember when it was built.

P.S. I had 51 nights in Marriott properties last year per my Rewards account, so I've been to a few of them. Headed for the downtown Marriott in Memphis tomorrow for a couple of nights.

We stayed there in October. I thought our room was really nice and so was the property.
I do have pictures uploaded to Kodak Gallery of the entire property and our room.
If you send me your email addy, I can send you the link.
It was very convenient to SW too! Had a great time.

We've stayed there a few times and found it to be a great hotel. The location was convenient to both WDW and Universal. From the reviews on TripAdvisor.com, it's rated #4 out of all of the Orlando hotels. They have great candid pics on there too. I've never stayed at the LBV Residence Inn, but have read reviews and seen the property and I'd say the Sea World location is a bit newer. Definitely not a bad place to stay - enjoy your trip!

Pam,
It's sent!

The hotel is only 1-2 years old and IMO FABULOUS. Are you sure you stayed at the Seaworld one? I just posted (about 1 minute ago) how much we loved this hotel.

ETA: This is what I posted on the other thread:
We stayed there last year for 2 nights. We drove to FL from Chicago and needed a couple days to unwind before we went to WDW. We loved that hotel - its beautiful, we didn't get too much swimming in because Tropical Storm Alberto decided to pay us a visit. But in between the downpours, every one was running out to the pool. The free b-fast is great, they have a Pizza Hut as their "poolside restuarant", they also serve burgers and a great Ceasar Salad. We didn't leave the property for the whole 3 days. The pool is zero depth and plenty of chairs - they have a volleyball court too.

Our upcoming July 2007 trip, we are flying this year, so we are going straight to WDW via ME, then after we leave WL, we are staying at the Marriott RI, Seaworld for 2 nights and continuing our trip on to South Florida.

The kids wouldn't have it any other way.
