Was there a few weeks ago. It was underwhelming. And NO COFFEE!!!I emailed them and got this reply:
"The bags will include a bottle of water, fruit, danish, and granola."
Agreed. But the lack of coffee this time was tragic.I have stayed there many times because of the low room rates.
The morning food was never a factor for staying there.
To be honest, I would rather eat a pop-tart from home.....
There’s a reason it’s usually by far the cheapest of the Harbor hotels. We’ve stayed there twice (2015, 2016) and are staying again in September. Underwhelming is the word- but it’s clean and the beds are reasonably comfy. Earplugs and/ or a white noise machine will help a lot. If you just want a place to shower and crash, it’s great because it’s just SO close, and relatively inexpensive.
Hubs and I had to stay at a motel recently, and they didn't have a coffee maker. Thankfully, we were driving and brought our own (because he can be funny like that), but I'm fairly certain that we will all be hearing about the Great Lack of Coffee Maker Failing of 2021 enough for our grandkids' grandkids to know the story.... Kinda like our parents walking 20 miles, up hill, in snow, without shoes, every day to get to the school bus stop! Was there a few weeks ago. It was underwhelming. And NO COFFEE!!!
On the other hand, the walk at Desert inn can be just as long as Park Vue. They literally share a back wall and are the same length. Having stayed in a parlor suite near the front of the property (top floor, roomy, more light because of extra window near the bath vanity, good shower pressure) and a standard double way at the back (cramped, dark, dismal shower pressure) there can be quite a variation in room ambiance, I’ve found. We have stayed at just about every hotel on Harbor, from the higher range Courtyard Marriott Theme Park to the mid-range, Tropicana and for your money Desert Inn and Suites was quite comparable. Certainly no frills but it is clean and close to the park. You can get a much more spacious room at Desert Inn for 1/4 less than what you would pay at Park Vue for a standard room which is often located in the back of Park Vue where the walk is exceedingly long (defeating the purpose of their price point).

This is applicable to most if not all of the hotels in the area. This has been our go to hotel out last few stays but it seems if prices have seen an increase from before. Is this the same for all hotels around DL or is this more a DI&S thing?
I haven't noticed much of an increase in the last 3 years; maybe $10? However, they've nearly *doubled* in price over the last 8 years or so... I think it was 2014 when I paid $70/night. Now, a basic 2Q room is around $129 typically (I think; we get a military discount that's like $10/night, and I think we typically expect to pay about $119/night).This has been our go to hotel out last few stays but it seems if prices have seen an increase from before. A $20 increase wouldn't surprise me for some of the room types. They were out if business for over a year, and are going to try to make up the loss wherever they can! Even with that increase, they are definitely still the least expensive across-the-street-from-the-pedestrian-entrance option! Thanks for the updates. I know we had executives booked before covid (would have went but for covid) at $20 bucks a night less than we can find now.
