We have a brochure that shows that 5 / room is available at the Dolphin, but Expedia shows that it exceeds the room limit. How is the space there - is 5 available? Is it roomy enough? We currently have ressies at AKL for 5 nights, but are considering splitting this time to another resort for a couple of nights. Maybe the Dolphin or the Poly. How is the Poly for 5 in a room?

Thanks in advance!

Poly rooms have a daybed for the 5th person. Rooms in Longhouses Tokelau, Tahiti and Rapa Nui have the largest rooms.

Oh, I've stayed at the Swan and Dolphin, but they do not have a daybed - maybe you'd have to have a rollaway brought in -that would take up more room. We've enver had more than 4 in a Dolphin room and I think that felt a little tight.

Poly,GF,Cont, BC, YC, (have not stayed at the BWI) all have daybeds in the rooms.
:sunny: Hope that helps!

We've stayed at the Swan with 6 in a room (one was under 3yo). It was an L shaped room with a table and chairs and they gave us a rollaway. There was plenty of room for the rollaway along with the porta crib.

The Poly standard room is definitely much larger than the Dolphin standard, though I think the Dolphin is as big as AKL and the Poly is much more expensive if you are getting the Dolphin at a discount. They usually run around $150. The rollaway is extra though.

We really loved the Dolphin when we stayed there. That said, the rooms were rather small. I think that you are going to feel squeezed with 5 in a room.

The Swan/Dolphin also charges the $10 a day fee, so even with discount it adds up to close a deluxe Disney Resort. What a POR room with a trundle?

We stayed at the Dolphin last Sept. and we are a family of 5. We brought along an air mattress which fit between the bed and the window. DS-11 slept on it while 2 DD's shared one bed; DH and I in the other. Because the mattress was an "easy inflate/easy deflate" (built-in pump), we were able to break it down and store it during the day. We didn't feel cramped at all. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the room just hanging around....we were either at the parks or by the Grotto Pool. The only issue I had was when we all had to get dressed at the same time. We solved this by using the huge closet as a "changing room" for the two younger kids (11 and 8). Otherwise, we were very happy with the Dolphin and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
