not heard back from the organization? I have the ladies name, email and phone number and it says to call if I have not heard from her after 5 days. Tomorrow will be 5 days but I don't want to bother anyone that may be busy or have another reason for not having gotten back to us. If this has happened to anyone else have you called or emailed the person? Thanks!

I have had that happen to me a couple of times. I called them and it's a good thing I did. One woman said she had too many people wanted to volunteer. I kept going back to the Hands on Network. Have you clicked on the "click here for information for HandsOn Network partner organizations you can contact that will have additional qualifying opportunities." ? It is at the very bottom of the page. That's where I found my volunteer opportunity at.

Definitely call so you will know what's going on. I work with a small organization that signed up to receive volunteers. The first week of January we received no notifications - but we knew there was a problem with the system because I had signed up as a "trial-run". The second week she received over 300 notifications - we really only needed about 50 volunteers for the first 6 months of the year. Since then - along with many problems with the web site - we have been returning calls and emails. If you haven't heard the agency may be in the same position as us - totally overwhelmed or have not received the notice. Be polite - we've had a few lovely people yell at us - and at least you'll get your answer.

I called after 5 days and was told they had no record of me so I was basically out of luck as they had everyone they needed. The lady was quite rude about it too. Definately call.

I called the lady today and she was just getting back from vacation. I was able to secure a spot for each of my family members that had signed up. Thanks for the quick responses.

I signed us up to work at a food bank on Feb 10, got a confirmation then finished the registration on the GAD website....that was 2 or 3 weeks ago. Then just a couple of days ago I got another email from the food bank lady saying they're behind in responding to the GAD requests and please bear with them. I was away when this last email came & almost forgot about it. I thought we were already confirmed so I plan to call her again tomorrow to verify what's going on.
